Replacement for r/steamdeck_linux.

As Lemmy doesn't have flairs yet, you can use these prefixes to indicate what type of post you have made, eg:
[Flair] My post title

The following is a list of suggested flairs:
[Discussion] - General discussion.
[Help] - A request for help or support.
[News] - News about the deck.
[PSA] - Sharing important information.
[Game] - News / info about a game on the deck.
[Update] - An update to a previous post.
[Meta] - Discussion about this community.

Some more Steam Deck specific flairs:
[Boot Screen] - Custom boot screens/videos.
[Selling] - If you are selling your deck.

These are not enforced, but they are encouraged.

Rules:

Follow the rules of Sopuli
Posts must be related to the Steam Deck in an obvious way.
No piracy, there are other communities for that.
Discussion of emulators are allowed, but no discussion on how to illegally acquire ROMs.
This is a place of civil discussion, no trolling.
Have fun.

Updated the SteamOS recovery image for repairing SteamOS on Steam Deck and Legion Go S. If you would like to test SteamOS on your own AMD powered handheld, you can use this SteamOS recovery image and follow the instructions here.

Unless I missed a previous update to the SteamOS recovery image, this is pretty huge. The old steamOS recovery image had some major bugs like crashing the wifi card if you tried connecting to a wifi 6 network with the OLED deck. Losing the ability to use wifi while trying to install/recover steamOS was a real headache, but I'm guessing that's fixed now.

This update has also changed the CPU governor from schedutil to powersave. Any one have some info on why this might be? Wouldn’t this reduce performance?

Edit: Found some info. It seems this was an intended change due to enabling AMD P State. https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamOS/issues/1781

Is anyone else getting slowdown in their games after this update? Even balatro is struggling now. The only reason i can think of is it's the update. I haven't done anything else to my settings.
