It’s a goddamn war zone out there, saying ‘fuck it’ I’m back to local’ is the posters touch grass equivalent

I've been using Subscribed, and I'm subscribed to like one sub that isn't just here or lemmygrad. It's been mostly nice!

I never left local

I don't need to raise my blood pressure that much

Not enough local posts since federation imo

Now the problem is the wrecker's coming in to start shit.

(Not talking about the cool people coming in to talk things out.)

local/hot is almost like the good old days before federation sadness

i just hope like half the posts being complaints/memes about other sites i've never been to and never will dies down one of these days, i just don't care manhattan

edit: okay i clicked on one of the links to blahaj and i gotta say the slop going on over there is somewhat entertaining, not entertaining enough to counter the jokerfication i get from seeing all of the shit takes post-federation but y'all do remain great posters no matter the canvas

So I’m very new to Lemmy/fedverse. Can someone explain a little the difference between local and non local? Would be much appreciated.

Sorting by Hot instead of Active helps too. Honestly, I liked this site better when Hot was the default. The new algo seems like it's designed to cook up arguments lol

Is it possible to make the site default to local (just on my end)?

Yes, it's in the settings somewhere.
