Either an op, or just trolls looking for attention instead of actually furthering any sort of vegan cause. My personal favorite was them going after Warhammer 40k because some of the models had a fur cloak on them.
Morally the worst thing present in the setting
A lot of exposes on industrial animal abuse do come from PETA though. Maybe they’re just very good at opsec - publicly do outrageous shit and have everyone focus on your dumb stunts and make fun of you so your more dedicated members infiltrate meat farms, breeding farms, pet shops, testing centers, etc. without anyone suspecting it.
They do hundreds if not thousands of campaigns a year. Something is gonna happen once in a while that irks you. By all means, go through their Twitter feed and get a rough idea of what they do.

My opinion on leather is nuanced (just learned this word lmao). I like animals and I think is bad to make them suffer, but on the other hand, lether is such a good material whose only replacement is plastic (petroleum) base materials, so I don't know what is actually better.

There are non-plastic pleathers, like mushroom based and stuff, though admittedly I have never tried a product like that.
