Honestly, I've been able to avert most of this year's brutality by not opening Steam much and focusing on chewing down my physical backlog at the moment, which has been working quite well so far ๐

I got rid of my physical collection a few years ago. It was just too much stuff, especially when it comes to moving. Digital made things a lot easier.
I've largely avoided buying physical stuff due to a combination of lack of space and also physical merch being super pricey compared to digital purchases.
Sprung for Dark Souls Remastered this morning, though I already have half a dozen other games on the go and it'll probably be months before I play it.
I have trouble getting into those games. I don't have much time and focus more on story games. Maybe when I retire, I can dedicate some time to a souls game.
I really want a Steam Deck, but I don't have a need for it. There are a bunch of games I'd like to pick up, but haven't yet, pacing myself for once :)

I use to do that, but the Steam deck is easier to fly with. Watch I'll end up getting a mouse and keyboard for it to not always use the Thumbsticks and this will be a moot point.
I've managed to avoid the Summer Sale so far. Been mostly working through my itch.io backlog on the Steam Deck.
Ahh, backlogs. Strangely one of the most effective ways to save money.
