Not really, it’s a completely valid take. You have literally no idea who owns the servers running the Lemmy instances, or how secure they are or who has access. If your identity on here gets hacked, who are you going to go after? Some neckbeard living in his parents basement who pays the $100 a month for a server? At least giant corporations can be held liable.
