SpoilerOklahoma judge who texted during murder trial could be removed | AP News

Photo caption...

In this image from security camera video, Lincoln County District Judge Traci Soderstrom looks at her cellphone during a murder trial, June 12, 2023, at the Lincoln County District Court in Chandler, Okla. Chief Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court John Kane IV is recommending the removal of the district court judge who exchanged more than 500 texts with her bailiff during a murder trial.

An investigation by the Oklahoma Supreme Court Council on Judicial Complaints found Soderstrom mocked prosecutors, laughed at the bailiff’s comment about a prosecutor’s genitals, praised the defense attorney and called the key prosecution witness a liar, according to the petition filed Tuesday, Oct. 10.

That's by far the longest photo caption I've ever seen.

I was reading an article the other day about how judges get caught in serious misconduct and rarely get any punishment at all.

In one child sex trafficking case a judge burst into the jury room and told the jurors that God told him the defendant was innocent. He told the investigating committee that he didn't remember doing it due to a temporary medical problem. He got a public warning and continued conducting trials.

In some state like Texas isn't that the norm??? I mean if you're important enough for god to talk to - you better share the message, right?
