I get that but why does the train itself need to be suspended from the top rather than supported from the bottom. Does a suspended train have some advantage over an elevated train?
There’s a strong case to be made for developing the technology so it can implanted in the niche use cases where it’s the best option. If the support placement is well planned it frees up space on the ground which effectively doubles the amount of trains per unit of train useable ground.
I really like the one above and one under idea. That would look be cool.
You can have a train on top and below going opposite directions without having to build 2 tracks, which would more than double the width of the track. The Hankou one I've been on neat the business district of Wuhan has one going clockwise and one going counter clockwise iirc.
