In western WA, there's really no such thing as AC, is that the case in eastern WA too?

No. I'm originally from Spokane. Never saw a house without AC growing up. When I moved to Seattle, I was surprised by the absence of this core feature.

It's hit and miss in eastern WA, none in this old house.
