IMO publicly endorsing the democratic candidate in elections (and presumably voting for them) is the important part. Party registration doesn't really matter.

It's not like those 3 elected Trump. Do you think the election would have gone differently if they'd deregistered as Republican? It would be truly wonderful if it were that easy.
Who cares what they did during the election if since then they've voted in basic lockstep with Republicans on the nominations.
None of the three I named have been in office for a while.
