Do they see magazine posts and comments? Just microblog posts? Every now and then someone follows me back from mastodon, and I wonder if they're seeing like my daily wordle comment or just the microblog posts.

I prefer being defederated from Grad/Hexbear Generally apart from that its nice to be ablento upload images, and having good uptime and speeds in europe is a plus.

So this is a bit disturbing on multiple levels.

1 - who is request the password reset of my account and why? (though this is probably the least interesting or important question - my guess is it's a script kiddie who found an email address from one of the public mailing lists and gave it a go for grins)

2 - the email says to let facebook know if i didn't request this reset (which i did not), but doesn't say how. why don't they include that info?

2.1 - minor, but, so how do i actually let FB know? keep in mind that i don't have an active account with FB right now and i don't use any Meta products currently.

2.1.1 - and would FB actually care or do anything if i do tell them, or would i just be wasting my time?

3 - does Facebook still retain my account, in spite of the fact that I deleted it?

4 - if they do - how much? all of it?! is this more like LinkedIn's hibernate, where the account is dormant and invisible but can be revived at any time?

I just noticed it now, but it seems like ernest is back. There's a kbin v2 on github that he created recently, https://github.com/ernestwisniewski/kbin_v2 and in his about-me over at https://ernest.dev/about-me/ he talks about his move to the Netherlands (alas, he's also noted that he's no longer involved with kbin).

kbin.social is still down, at least for me, and based on what he's said elsewhere he might not be able to fix it...

Because I'd love for kbin.social to return. Or, failing that, because I'd really like to grab a copy of my old data from kbin.social and repost it.

So even though the site is still down, somebody with access to the domain registrar is renewing the domain for it, and did so just recently.

No offense to them but I keep seeing anime stuffs on my feed. How do I get rid of it entirely?

I got one of those fediverse chicks messages today and I noticed I had already blocked the user. Does blocking not stop accounts messaging you? If so its going to be a problem given what we see wit that fediverse chick spam.

I am currently using floorp as my browser and it has web apps as a feature. I'd like to know if you use web apps, why you use them, and if you think they are worth using.

Is there a way to sub to people on bluesky via mbin, using the bridge that was created, or is it not a thing?

At a high level I understand how federation in general works, and how the nostr-activityPub bridge works, but I don't understand like how up and down votes work, if my post is formatted "correctly" so that it doesn't look awful on your end, and I don't understand how I can find mbin magazines but not lemmy communities.

Basically I was looking for lemmy and mbin versions of https://piefed.social/c/playground - as I set up my single user instance, it would be good to have a test magazine where I can make test posts and test comments without bothering the users of a real community.
