William Shatner went to space with Jeff Bezos and said, "It felt like a funeral." QED.

From this video, which is also very good in that it talks about the absolute dumbification of feminism and women working in science and technology: women in space but it sucks

They'll "do great diplomacy" to walk the black site sentence back from life to 20 years. "Look: they might see sunlight again someday. Problem solved." (Note: even this change will be reversed long before anyone serves the 20 year sentence and gets out, so materially the difference will be exactly zilch.)

Hard to say who I hate more, Miller or the smarmy little goblin my brain is already trying repress the memory of who denied Israel's war crimes with a smile on his face for months.

Ironically, another Miller.

Watch him forget where he is and give a speech about how Social Security needs to be cut.

Probably a matter of whether they want to make a public spectacle of his trial. It would be really stupid of them to, but they did do that idiotic "perp walk" thing with him that made him look even more like a hero, so I won't underestimate their fascist proclivity to make a show of being brutal and unjust "to make an example".

Imagine talking to and about brown people as if they are actually human beings. What is the world coming to?

It's nice to be pleasantly surprised when our pessimistic hellworld turns out to be a little worse than the real hellworld. Of course, that doesn't always happen....

No ethical consumption, and all that. Still, this is awfully high and close on the unethicalness scale.

BDS type shit is painful, and we all contribute what we reasonably can. I trust your "reasonable" to be far more radical than liberals', and to include less consumption, looking hard for alternatives, and seeking support from comrades. af-heart

Unironically, though. Liberals are only "against it" when the feelz dictate.

I mean, one thing that dipshit says which I agree with (though for different reasons, of course) is where he points out that nobody protested the same airline doing deportation flights under Biden. (Maybe it wasn't as broadly announced, of course, but I think we all know that if it had been, many people who disagree with it now—and maybe even who are protesting/boycotting it now—would've shrugged their shoulders. And, of course, big public announcements/documentation of it now, but not then, is part of the same problem....)

Are the donkey-libs going to love Musk again, now that he doesn't want Trump to fuck with his dividends too much?

I have no idea whether this is a new pivot or what, though.

In tromp's America, even the pivots do pivots!

Apparently Avelo airlines has become the first/only commercial airline to publicly announce a contract with ICE for doing deportation. Usually it's little charter airlines that do it.

Can't resist those juicy PIC moneys for enhanced profit!

USA Today: Why are tens of thousands of people boycotting this little-known airline?

Excerpts

Around 30,000 people have signed a petition to boycott the small airline after Avelo made a deal with ICE to carry out deportation flights.

A little-known airline is facing backlash from tens of thousands of people after the company agreed to carry out deportation flights for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Avelo's entry into the deportation business comes as the Trump administration needs more planes to move detainees from one state to another and then to deport them from the U.S. to other countries. Avelo announced the contract with immigration authorities in early April.

Goff said the airline also carried out deportation flights for the Biden administration. Neither the company nor federal immigration authorities responded to questions about those flights.

The ultra-low-cost airline will fly deportation flights for the Department of Homeland Security on three of its Boeing 737-800 aircraft from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport starting on May 12. The flights will travel internationally and domestically.

It’s unusual for a commercial airline to carry out deportation flights. Immigration authorities, the U.S. military or charter airlines typically operate the flights, according to Thomas Cartwright, who tracks deportation flights for immigrant rights group Witness at the Border.

Don't worry, though. 30k people have signed a petition!!!!

And, sorry/not sorry: because I found this gem of an opinion piece by a genocidal liberal fuckwit apologizing for this "just doing business" nonsense, you have to read it too.

Avelo Airlines — neither woke nor broke (apparently—according to Startpage—originally titled "Anger at Avelo deportation flights is misplaced. Here's why."

Excerpts

Connecticut’s favorite local airline, Avelo, is in trouble for making a strategic business decision: taking a long-term contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to fly deportation flights for the Department of Homeland Security.

Starting in May they’re dedicating three of their 20 737 jets to fly from Mesa, Ariz. to destinations both in the U.S. and overseas (presumably flying over the “Gulf of America”) possibly even heading to El Salvador to deliver deportees to prisons there.

The public reaction, while understandable, is misplaced.

Avelo is a common carrier airline. Their business is flying planes, not passing judgement on passengers or destinations.

They’ve even flown deportation flights for ICE during the Biden administration… and nobody complained.

They even provided charters for the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2016. This is their business: flying.

If you’re upset with ICE’s deportations, isn’t your anger better directed at them? Where are the legal appeals? Penalizing or boycotting Avelo won’t stop the deportations.

Taking on the ICE charters, they say, is a way of subsidizing their low fares as we face an economic recession and keeping their employees on payroll.

If protesters would “read the room” they’d realize that many of Avelo’s passengers probably support the deportations. After all, President Trump is only doing what he promised and what got him elected.

The airline is only doing this because it allows you your cheap tourism, folks. We all know that flying commercial passengers is done out of the goodness of their hearts, and will continue despite not being profitable (enough), so long as they can get better money from ICE! Sorry, but the ethnic cleansing is necessary for you to have your treats! And, after all, you can't blame the furnace companies for supplying the Nazis or anything; they were just in the business of making furnaces!
