I once saw a clip where he seemed to be a stutterer. If that's the case, it's understandable.

You can also pick instances that are more lax and federate with everyone, then filter instances you don't want to see, on sync. Huge feature

The ones spewing Russian propaganda? Probably the government itself

Yep. You can also import settings from the reddit app.

So far I saw ads only on the 'slide' view

Can help with some of these:

can't disable auto hide of comment actions

I think that any of these 2 settings might help

Settings shortcut: Comments > Always show comment actions

Settings shortcut: Comment options > Autohide navigation bar

No way to hide viewed posts

You can temp hide read posts using actions on the bottom bar or set the fab to do so, or set it on lemmy itself, so it permanently hides read posts.

Settings shortcut: General > FAB action

Given the dev history on the reddit app and implementation of features and changes based on users feedback, I'm willing to pay for a pro version, not so sure about the subscription model though.

I have and use both. But for gestures I use the one hand operation from Samsung.

Considering that the reddit app was closed source and a source of income for the dev, highly doubt it.

I've only noticed it on the 'slide' view mode so far.

My settings backup from sync for reddit works here! That's amazing

You could have a backup of your settings and load it up on each account.
