Piefed is a beauty. Made to be easily to contribute to, great morals and focus on tools for safety, ability to subscribe to posts for notifications sorts like the forum days, compatible with lemmy and discourse forum federation iirc and the main developer seems really chill and like he cares about making a good and healthy platform

Here’s a post that goes more in depth at the shut down and it refutes the accusations of doxxing. https://x.com/gideonzhi/status/1819215914988196204

Seems like the discord community was helping make the site more resilient since it would often go down and stay down for days because only one person could bring it back up and no one could contact him. They also were going to reduce the costs by a lot and foot the bill. Seems like this was shut down by an overzealous ruler not anything else.

Sorry its a xitter link but its the only place theyve posted.

The ui/ux also needs a lot of improvement but trying telling a FOSS/Linux advocate that and they’ll call you stupid and say if you cant install arch you shouldnt be using computers or something of that sort.

Hey, the admin of slrpnk.net has been thinking of making Photon the default frontend but updates to it sometimes cause breaking issues? Any chance you could get into contact with them so it can become the default in a way that updates wont break it?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Thats really cool i didnt know that

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Oh, maybe you could bring it up to them so they could keep that in mind or help you set it as default in a way that wont get broken?
