If you're referring to California suing the Trump regime over their illegal commandeering of the California National Guard, the appeal of the lower court ruling in favor of California is still in process.

I take it you weren't at these protests. At the one in my city, the end of the protest march had tables and tables full of resistance organizations signing people up to get involved, handing out fliers on ways to do more than wave cardboard signs, etc.

In many ways, protests like these are onboarding for the resistance.

Spoiler: It's not to convince Trump of anything.

Check out https://heywhatcanido.com/ ... Even if it's not tailored to your specific region, it should give you ideas about the types of things you can get involved with to actually make a difference. Much of it from home.

You're right. It will. In concert with all the other things people are actually doing to fight back.

Rally and march, starting at Cal Anderson Park in Seattle. More info: https://seattleindivisible.com/events/2025/6/1/seattle-no-kings-june-14th/

In case you haven't to been to one of these protests before, this is a big, mainstream one. Think strollers and old ladies, although I'm sure there will be some signs with naughty words on them. So it's a good way to ease into protests and do something if you've finally gotten to the breaking point after seeing the shit going on in L.A.

EDIT: Seattle Times, which is known for undercounting protests, reports that this one was >70k people. That's over 9% of the population of Seattle! (Of course not everyone there was from Seattle.) SPD also reports the march itself was 1.5 miles long.

I'm generally not a big fan of online petitions, because they often feel about as useful as screaming into the void. But I think this one might be a little different. The idea is that the organizations behind the petition are going to start making the case directly to Seattle city council members to stop giving city funds to Musk's businesses. And if they can go into those discussions armed with thousands of petition signatures, that's going to make their case that much stronger.

So if you're sick of Musk and his bullshit, please consider giving the petition a look. And if you're wanting to get more involved with this effort than just signing a petition, feel free to DM me and I'll get you plugged into the group.

EDIT: Some additional background on the general Divest Musk effort: https://www.teslatakedown.com/divest

And what are your hopes and dreams for it?
