I've been having an issue this morning with any US server I've tried connecting to.

I am able to connect to the server but no other internet access will work. I've connected to a Canadian server and that worked fine immediately.

Anyone else notice something?

Hello,

Sorry, I am still trying to get picture if this bug I've been seeing in my vehicle. (Partially converted school bus)

Sidebar said arthropod, web search said exoskeleton, which this doesn't seem to have, but it's so small I can barely see it unless it's right in my line of sight and I just stare.

If there is any better place to ask for help for ID please let me know. Really sorry to bungle coming here if it's not appropriate.

I will be posting a picture as soon as I can find one of them again. I lost it as soon as I grabbed my phone.

I've seen them around some boards I brought in, and some small brush debri around the entrance.

Is there any possible bug that could be a serious issue which matches this description at some stage of it's life? Could I need to tear everything down and treat the space for anything which might match this?

They disappear for a little while if I spray some essential oils like geranium, lemongrass, and maybe cedar (forgot everything I hastily put in this mix).

Sorry again if this is just a bad post or the wrong place.

I'm heading out to get some diatomaceous earth today, hopefully that does something. (I have ants right now as well, so that might be helped by that at least).

Thank you for any direction or advice you might be able to provide.

I'll update soon.

Edit: Realize you probably need an area. Washington State, USA.

Edit: Grain or Flour moth larvae? Is there a stage where these are almost imperceptibly small? Do these fit the above description at all? Sorry for this mystery quest.

Edit: I added a photo of a bug I found while sifting a bag of mass harina I had (right near where I first saw the original worm like bugs). Though, I had already moved this out of the area and into a garage with a load of other items during the initial investigation. So, can't be sure exactly where this came from. Maybe a silverfish?

:'(

Will you be getting it repaired? Do you know how much it might be?

So, unfortunately it seems to have failed the magnet test. (Had to check what fail and pass were for that lol)

Interestingly though, the lid of it is magnetic. And I was only using what I had at my friend's house, which were small basic fridge magnets.

I read it's maybe possible it's still not aluminum just because it didn't stick to a magnet? I've got some stronger magnets at home but it will be a few days still before I can test that.

And I couldn't find anything which was pure copper, save for finding and stripping a wire somewhere.

Thank you very much for your help here. It has been incredibly beneficial for this search.

I will continue looking for strong magnets just in case, as well as reading where I can to see if anything says what else it could be.

I may be at the end of what I can do outside of testing a sample of the material itself, but if anything comes to mind at any point, please feel free to toss it here. I'll be checking back for sure as well as updating with anything I find.

Thanks again!

Hello,

I have been gifted a Pixel 6a, and clumsy as I am, I have already dropped it numerous times, or it fell from somewhere I placed it.

I am hoping to find a really good rugged case for the phone, but my go to for previous phones was the Otterbox Defender series, which I couldn't find for sale anymore. (Old phone, so I can understand that)

Are there any suggestions for reliable and incredibly drop safe cases available for the 6a still? Like, insanely drop safe as somehow I seem to have a bump or fall at least once a day. I'm so lost with all these random brands and have no idea what's reliable with them. And it really doesn't matter what it looks like. I'd take silicone wrapped in stone if it kept me from ruining my phone.

Any direction or advice is highly appreciated. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post.

Oh. So it could be aluminum at least on the base.

Dang.

That's pretty helpful observation. Thank you very much.

Here is a photo of the base.

Does it show up? I tried to post a photo in a comment somewhere else and someone commented saying they didn't see it.

But this Brandani stamp/labeling is the only marking I saw inside or out.

Thanks so much for helping.

Oh shoot. You're probably correct.

I don't know what else to call it. Though, shifting to using that term might have hindered my results for sure.

Thank you so much.

Hello!

Does anyone happen to know anything about this 'Brandani' branded gooseneck kettle? I'm hoping to find any original information about it and also to find out if it is stainless steel or some mixture with aluminum.

I've failed so far at finding anything online about it.

For context, it took me a few hours of nonconsecutive research to learn the term 'gooseneck'. So, I'm not the most learned person on the topic.

Any direction or advice is very highly appreciated.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post!

Hm. Sway in what way? Are there other candidates or organizations which use terms like these? I didn't see anything come up.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Thanks! I see it.

What does that mean? I can't find any reference to it. Is it some form of political terminology which I'm maybe just unfamiliar with?

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 weeks ago

So far. I've seen this about it:

Appeals Court panel orders Camilla council members to be removed from office

A stated investigation is said to have found neither slept at night in the addresses they were registered to for "at least three months".

It doesn't go into much other detail though.

Thanks.

Could you post where you for that info from?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

I'll let you know!

My signal reliability and bandwidth will stay the same, but, distributing that between 1 download compared to 4-5 might make an improvement on it's own, allowing the download to more often finish before it times out. But, we'll see. Gotta get back to my PC.

If not, maybe the timeout setting in the config file will help a little.

Will report back!

Oh no, my upload must not have gone through...

It was just a screenshot of a page I found.

I think it was this:

Increase dnf Speed on Fedora

Seems like there are many pages effectively copying an article more or less exactly like this.

But, hopefully the options help me, and whoever might come across this.

Does this show up correctly?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

Hello! Thanks so much for helping me with this.

It looks we've been able to find the following for the config file for dnf:

max_parallel_downloads in /etc/dnf/dnf.conf.

Here's a post on how to increase it - so do the opposite, and set it to 1.

Also, I wanted to ask you about your suggestion for downloading on the phone.

What method or methods were you considering for downloading the packages on a phone? I haven't heard of this before.

Thank you again for taking the time to write back.

I really appreciate it.

Any recommendations for additive-free and tribal owned tobacco to look out for?

Much of the native and tribal owned brands I've found don't specify no additive, as far as I was able to see.

Any suggestions or direction is appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Hello,

I am using Fedora, but have a temperamental internet connection at home. Updating can be difficult because large downloads are slow and tend to reach timeouts most of the time.

Is there a way to have my system download one update from the list at a time instead of multiple?

This might at least help prevent me needing to retry upwards of 4-5 times hoping it all eventually succeeds within the timeout and failure limits it seems to have.

I did check online a bit and the manual for dnf, but web searching seems to bring up "updating a single package" not iterating through the available updates to baby my horrible internet. And the manual didn't seem to mention anything regarding this.

Hoping there is something.

Thank you very much for any suggestions or guidance.
