I started a Sokoto run and it's been pretty fun so far. Haven't gone into debt this time and now I have Per-Capita Taxation so when I go back to it I'll probably be able to build a lot more construction sectors. UK wanted to make me a protectorate so sadly had to give Togo to France for protection but then Denmark took it from them somehow (I wasn't looking at the map when it happened), Denmark's probably not that big of a deal so I'll get it back. Other than that I have most of West Africa except a lot of the coastlines.

What country in Victoria 3 should I play as if I wanna do an anti-colonial run

Tried Ethiopia and it went pretty well until I went into extreme debt and went bankrupt, tried Zulu and I couldn't fucking do anything without the British getting involved

Note that I still don't really know how to play this game, I kind of knew how to play Vicky 2 but that game automated a lot more shit

What's the best one-volume collection of Lenin's most important writings that doesn't cost a fortune?

Most of his books are like 100 pages I feel like there should be more of these, like that 800ish page Marx Engels reader from the 70s printed on super thin paper.

There's one that's around 500 pages but cuts stuff like prefaces and the last chapter of What Is To Be Done, I don't want that

Kind of fucked up how the three volume Selected Works of Lenin from the USSR Foreign Press costs so much money, they should stop that

Can anyone recommend a few books to help a friend's political education

Nothing too overtly commie just like baseline understanding why capitalism is bad, maybe some history books as well. Like I was thinking The Black Jacobins would be a good one.

Tech billionaires are talking about abolishing IP law. Which they obviously only want so they can feed millions of stolen artistic works into their shitty AIs, but still I hate IP law and think it would be a good thing if it were gone.

I don't have any strong opinions about any particular name but this is a good opportunity to abandon the name that's based on a dead meme no one has posted in multiple years, and hopefully also not pick a new name based on a meme that will die in less than a year

More Blowback-like podcasts please

I just got a job doing 3rd shift grocery stocking, usually they don't allow earbuds but there's no customers so everyone does it anyway.

I'd like to get something ~$30 or less (I don't really care about the sound quality so much as long as it doesn't sound terrible), and battery life lasting at least 8 hours. Wireless because I don't want the wire getting in the way of anything or feeling weird down my shirt.

Sometimes people say it's a leftist anime but I think it's way too stupid all of the time to have any real ideology to it and it's better not to seriously think about the politics of it because it will rot your brain quickly. However, it was very fun and I liked it. Suzaku is a cop.

Approximately 20 minutes after takeoff, a young man named Takamaro Tamiya got up from his seat, drew a katana and shouted, "We are Ashita no Joe!" He stated his intent to hijack the plane and instructed the other hijackers to draw their weapons. The hijackers then took 129 people (122 passengers and seven crew members) hostage and commanded the pilots to fly the plane to Havana, Cuba, where they intended to receive training by communist military groups

Can other fandoms even compete

I think you should watch it

The first half may have a lot of plotlines that seem frivolous or melodramatic, but it provides great contrast for the actual masterpiece second half. If you're even a little entertained, watch until the end.

The story takes place in the years preceding and during the French Revolution. It's historical fiction: emphasis on fiction, a lot of the shit even with real people just didn't happen. So consider all the characters as just characters. I think the anime does a great job at development: character development and world development. Slowly over the course of 40 episodes you can see France change and the characters change with it. Oscar starts off as a noble and very loyal to the queen, but she's also a person with an extremely upstanding moral character, which, without giving too much away, doesn't lead to her staying that way.

It feels like a 70s anime for sure, but also the best 70s anime to exist.

I think Oscar may be my favorite anime character ever.
