I would love to see a comparison of the 2019 mbp vs the one from the article. What additional domains? Are they on the same OS version? What percentage increase for each domain?

“Paperweight”/“chromebooks” yet can run davinci, Lightroom, PS, and IntelliJ at the same time? I mean complaining about the cost sure, but MacBook Air with the Mx chips are just as powerful as the old Intel MBPs, if not much more powerful.

Judy Crook, who runs the bookshop, told the Guardian that, though as “a point of basic Christian belief, we welcome everybody”, they did not want to promote homosexuality and “we’re not happy with the gay rights situation”.

“We have to respect other people’s views. But we didn’t want the flag flying outside our shop.”

She even admits it’s not Christianity saying to hate LGBTQ folk. She’s just a bigot.

The majority of the clothes on the planet do not bleed color anymore.

I simply cannot see how anyone could justify giving a company who will void your warranty if you do not pay them continually for years after already paying them thousands at the onset.

I’m pretty positive this is against the law, so they might say it but it might be unenforceable.

if there is a SBC can it really not run locally?

Not sure what you mean by SBC

Also, so I can put Linux on it? So what?

No it literally is a Linux box. You don’t need to put Linux on it. People have managed to connect directly to the box. And so what? It directly refutes 80% of your points. If you can put FOSS software on it then you can do whatever you want with it without worrying about them harvesting your data, requiring it to be always online, charging a subscription, worrying about the “cool tech bro” app, etc.

If any actual alternative existed then yeah it’d be a no brainer to use the alternative. But no alternatives exist. And no, an AC in the window is not an alternative, and those things that blow air on you under the covers also aren’t an alternative.

I have one of these and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. You don’t have to believe me. In any case, it just runs off of a Linux computer. You can install OSS firmware on it.

They sell a mattress as well. It’s a bit more integrated.

Very cool solution to an incredibly hard problem. Not much effect on average citizens either as the majority of people on the planet are not living at sea and those that are probably aren't living in blue water Baltic.
