I used to play with Hotas, but recently switched to Kb+M, it was odd at first, but its actually easier imo, cuz i typically dont have to remember combinations, as each function has a key available. Flight stick is more immersive and fun tho.

I enjoy the ground stuff, but it certainly suffers from performance issues. I think ground warzones as a whole need a complete rework, its jus a bad halo clone at the moment. Raiding is where its at for me. Sneaking into a settlement and eliminating resistance is super fun, and feels kind of like an ImSim in certain cases.

Honestly, I'd rather see this than the crazy fuckin maga bullshit people around here have. Could use more hot anime men on it tho.

The entire series really peaked with civ 4 and 5. 4 was the more complicated, less streamlined but still really fun game, where each game kind of felt like a dnd campaign where tons of random things could happen and you had a lot of flexibilty with your Civilization. And Civ 5 was streamlined, simplifed to be easier to learn, and while choices were reduced, the more streamlined nature made it easy to jump into a game, and civs still had uniqueness about them, and its also great fun.

Civ 5 is also a beautiful game. The artstyle has this epic, renaissance painting quality, and every world leader looks badass and awesome. Even the portraits of the units, like the worker and scout looked like something out of an italian paimting. The artstyle felt more authentic and mature, at least to me, and they haven't really recaptured that epicness and beauty since.

I have been playing a lot of the DOS version of Simcity 2000 recently. I grew up with it on my windows 98 pc, so revisiting it was nice. There were a few thing I picked up on that I never realized when I was young.

1: The game, especially the soundtrack, reminds me of Blade Runner. It has the synthy jazz instrumentals that are melancholic, but also has that classic simcity cheer.

2: The game kind of has a dystopian feel to it, at least visually. The ground is brown, with only sparse trees filling the world, buildings are fairly realistic, with not many colors, outside of the luxury homes and the Arcos are very intimidating structures, like something out of Judge Dredd or, again, Blade Runner.

3: Omg, water sucks in this game xD.

Why does this game feel so moody, at least to me? It's also intensly funny, and I will never not laugh when 1700 llamas die in a plane crash.

Is it frowned upon to do community goals offline? I tried doing it only and got smoked by a pirate in like 10 seconds. Not upset or anything, piracy is fair game, and it was exciting for the 10 seconds I was alive, but if I actually want to contribute, should I be offline?

Hiya commanders! I havent played since 2018 but recently got back into it, and I've been exploring like nuts! I got a thargoid question? Can they show up outside of invaded territories? I was around Ueon, getting back from an expedition and I picked up a lot of nonhuman signals in a star system? I didnt check it out cuz I was in a hurry to get home, and didn't want to risk loosing 25mil in data

Edit: Nuen! I meant Nuen, dunno where Ueon came from lol
