How do you look at infrastructure and say, "that's bad, actually."?

Gonna put this on a shirt for when I get off a bus to beat up a guy

I asked about raspberries and first they said 'tomato' because they were in a bowl with cherry tomatoes. I asked if they were sure, then they said 'Marshmallow' and seemed pretty adamant at that.

I don't know if you'd call it a regression but every type of berry is a strawberry now.

Blueberries are 'blue strawberry' blackberries are 'black strawberry'and I'm not sure what raspberries are because they're also red and I haven't heard them be called anything

The first Witcher game has an interesting enough story but the gameplay is all over the place

I was thinking this. I'd hate to ask the vaccination status of this child

Now google "how long does it take to beat OFF?"

I was surprised the author had so much trouble switching audio devices. Win+A brings up your linux style dock and you can switch from there.

Maybe it goes to show how bad windows is if a tech writer for The Registry doesn't know that.

Unless you have a bunch of pirate software and weird programs, it's mostly your My Documents, Downloads, Photos and Videos folders.

Games through Steam and GOG can be downloaded again

Anarcho-communists be like: poo pee poo pee

Then I felt the nut on my front truck come loose.

No you can't do it in the background.

No it can't be done through your app store.

No you can't do something else whilst it's happening.

No you can't lock your phone or turn the screen off.

And we'll need to start from scratch if any of those happen.

Also, we're going to check for updates and calculate storage space every time you open.

Like, c'mon bruh. You're a game I play on the shitter. I'll be done before you've gone through all that.

Kids' music kinda fire these days

Oh, and not letting a parent see their kid is a form of child abuse.

As August rolls around, we often start thinking “spring is here.” Warmer days, longer daylight and a bit more sun can certainly lift the mood. The temptation is to believe our pastures are waking up too. But for those managing kikuyu, paspalum and other pasture species, it’s important to understand what’s really happening beneath the surface.

False spring for kikuyu Kikuyu, a warm-season perennial, might look like it's starting to green up in late August, but don't be fooled - this is a false spring. The plant is responding to sunlight and day length, but real growth won’t begin until soil temperatures consistently reach 12°C or higher, typically not until mid to late September in most of Greater Sydney.

Applying fertiliser too early based on visual signs can be wasteful, as the plant’s roots are still relatively inactive. If you’re looking to feed kikuyu and make the most of nitrogen, wait until those soil temps climb. Consider using a soil thermometer and placing first thing in the soil at 9am to guide your decisions.

**When does spring really start for temperate species? ** If you’re growing temperate grasses like ryegrass, phalaris, or cocksfoot, spring growth will start earlier than kikuyu but still not as early as the calendar might suggest. These species generally respond to soil temperatures from 8–10°C, so you might see genuine spring growth from late August into early September, depending on your paddock’s aspect and soil type.

That said, each year varies. North-facing slopes, shallow soils, and areas with good drainage may warm up quicker. Use visual cues alongside soil temperature checks to time grazing rotations or fertiliser applications effectively.

Key takeaways for small farms: Don’t trust green tips alone: kikuyu’s true growth kicks in when soils are reliably warm (12°C+). Temperates are earlier but still soil-temp driven: watch for consistent 8–10°C soil temps. Avoid early inputs: premature fertiliser or grazing can stress pasture and waste resources. Consider your microclimate: paddock orientation and soil type make a big difference. A little patience now can mean better pasture performance and better returns in the season ahead.

After her game was banned from sale on Steam in a baffling decision with no appeal option, solo developer Cara Cadaver has made VILE: Exhumed available as shareware under a Creative Commons license. The project can be downloaded for free, but players can opt to donate in support of the solo developer's work. Both Cara and publisher DreadXP will pay forward those donations, with 50 percent of the game's profits being given to the Toronto-based charity Red Door Family Shelter. The group aids families, refugees and women who are escaping violence.

Both Steam and Itch.io have recently adopted sweeping and vague policies regarding their approach to projects with adult content due to pressure from payment processors. Itch.io has begun re-indexing some projects, but only free ones.

These changes have disproportionately impacted projects by underrepresented and queer creators, according to a statement from the International Game Developers Association that condemned the broad delisting of adult games. In her post announcing the new distribution plan for VILE: Exhumed, Cara summed up the situation pretty aptly: "What this actually results in is taking power and storytelling away from women, other marginalized artists, and ultimately, from everyone."
