I would argue total hopelessness is inaccurate because things can change in ways we don't anticipate. The US will collapse as all empires have, and the world will become a better place, but it will be a rough transition and things will get extra fucked as climate change worsens. Many more people are working to make things better for each other than there are people working to fuck us over, they are just better organized right now.

But anyway the level of hope you feel is more likely to be dictated by whatever material reality you are experiencing. If you are actually looking for a logical argument against hopelessness in an effort to reduce it there are better ways.

Sbarro was founded by two Italian immigrants in Brooklyn, they were probably real NYC pizza at one point

If someone is shot and paralyzed, but dies years later from complications it is ruled as a murder in connection with the shooting. If someone is horrifically abused and commits suicide, should the suspects of the abuse have some culpability in the death?

Whether suicide or murder, her blood is on Epstein and company's hands.

I have had a day where I was sure I wanted to die and years where I didn't. It's possible for it to change in an instant. I don't know any details of her situation, but just pointing out that that can change from moment to moment.

It's so clear how much more the state cares about the rich. They spent millions searching for him when the same week there were multiple other people killed in NYC that didn't even receive news coverage let alone a multi-million dollar manhunt.

According to most that would use the term disparagingly these days I would be a tankie, so I mean we as in me and other 'tankies'.

A lot of the Christian right want more kids in private Christian schools as well.

There is an old homophobic stereotype that gay teachers are child molesters. I think that might be what the person was getting at. Though you're right, they don't want queerness normalized in any way.

Make a post on hexbear or another 'tankie instance' about the issues of China in good faith and you will see many posters elucidate the flaws. We say 'critical support' for a reason, because we can support an action that may be good in the struggle against imperialism or whatever but still critique the source of that action.

Representative for who? Natives, black people, queers, anyone remotely to the left wouldn't say the US has been exactly democratic during it's time. Trump and the GOP are just the current incarnation of the settlers that massacred the indigenous people and the racists who enforced slavery and later Jim Crow and segregation. They have been a part of America since it's founding.

That makes sense at like a booth or festival vendor, I didn't think of that. I did use cash app once at a shop where I'm at to buy unregulated weed ahah.

I'd rather my comm ban people that complain about 'tankies'. It's a useless term which can mean 100 things to different people, only serving really to divide the left.
