Ugh, that does suck. I live in California and luckily had paid family leave available and my employer was okay with the time off.

Yea, the forced removal with no recompense was brutal...luckily for myself, there were no daycare involved as it was our first child but my partner taught elementary kids so we saw tons of families struggling with the protocols.

The school from home was rough too. It was difficult for kids who were already behind. It was especially damaging for children who cane from disadvantaged communities or those with low parent involvement.

You know, with this bird flu coming around, maybe we can get another shot...multiple people where I live have contracted it. Albeit from raw milk....

I feel this so much. Having a covid baby radicalized me in a way I don't think would've been possible otherwise. Crazy to see family freak out at me for asking them to wear a mask to see/hold my newborn...nothing made me reevaluate more than those moments.

Do you still actively play? I used to play a lot a few years ago. I've been debating getting back into it but I'm not sure I have the patience to relearn the combat and I'm sure those who still play are monsters at this point.

I just finished toradora myself this weekend. While I really enjoyed it, I agree that there are some big feelings that seem to bounce around. What episode have you gotten to?

Edit: just realized this thread is a month old. Apologies!

I've heard that some of them will connect to any wifi available. So if your neighbor does not have a password on their network. The tv will connect and upload the data.

I have family that would claim they are pro-labor, keyword claim. One family member was in a union for his entire working career. Him and his spouse vote conservative (afaik) everytime. I've tried to explain that they are voting against what helped them get to the point they are at currently but they just can't see it. It has helped some that now I'm in a union but even when agreeing with me that corporations only care about profits and will cut you and your benefits the first chance they get, they will still side with R. It's crazy! We even had an interesting conversation about trickle down economics and how it hasn't worled or trickled down at all. I was surprised they agreed with me on that.

The problem is that it is just poor money management. He could've been set for life. Put that into an index or S&P500 and get 10% every year. That's 70k and he wouldn't even have to work. If you took that 70k and invested back into the fund, you can double your money in about 7 years, assuming 10% returns.

Glad I'm not alone in this. Tight budgeting that slowly trickles down to negative and then the tax credits come in and give us a boost to hopefully last the next year.

Dude, what the heck is wrong with people. Wealth is wasted on the stupid.
