That is a fair point. Presentation matters for enjoy8and engagement.
I may be a grouch. But apart from MONEY what is the point of live action remakes? Especially of critically acclaimed shows/movies. I just don't get it. Why not tell new stories?
Check my other comment. I grind using an old timey grinder. Not sure what condition the grinding parts are in as I don't know how they should look new. So your pre-ground should be fine. Probably with a but shorter steep (2-4 minutes?). You biggest issue may be oxidation of your coffee.
You do know you can fake a french press by just putting water and beans in a container, let it steep and once done pour through a fine sieve.
You are probably 100% right that a more heterogeneous grind would make a better brew. And tighten steep times. While I try for something around 5-7 minutes it isn't uncommon for it to be 2-20 minutes. It has still been good coffee, way better than any drip. Frech press is ridiculously robust.
At some point I should borrow a great grinder and test out a bunch of grind/steep time combinations to see what I prefer. And compare it to my normal brew. Perhaps there is a light for me to see.
I went french press because it is so forgiving. Put ground beans in container, pour over water and let it sit. You can of course go fancier, measure things here and there. But you'll get very far with very simple techniques, or no technique.
Speaking of grind fineness it's also very forgiving there as well. The finer the grind the shorter steep time is needed. I saw a video some time ago about this (there were a well spoken snob whose name I've forgotten, will find later) and the conclusion was that pretty much any grind will make good coffee.
Edit: I use one of these old timey grinders and I love it. Fair bit of grind variance being a perk. https://dygtyjqp7pi0m.cloudfront.net/i/25278/22826331_1.jpg
Really heavy ryes (this one being 100%) need rest to firm up. Something gelatinize I think I read. If not they are a gooey mess. So do let it rest.
Also the rest cycle works well for an everyday bread. Dinner the day after bake is almost 24 hours later. Almost.
My everyday sourdough rye. For ca 650g total dough, makes two ca 300g breads.
Morning: mix sourdough (approx 100% hydration, 1/6 total weight), water (250g), additives (flax, sunflower etc) and rye flour (rye+additives approx 275g). I start with 100% hydrat6and go from there. Mix until looseish dough-paste. Want it to be not quite stiff, err on the side of wetness. In short just mix everything in the morning.
During day: Let it rest
Evening: If necessary adjust hydration. Loose and shaggy is what you want. Make two ca 3cm high boules (round thingies) and make half cm depression in the centre of them. This makes them flatter after final rest. Let them rest until 3-5mm wide cracks have appeared, ca 2-3 hours. Bake 200 degrees with fan for about 30 minutes, until inner temperature of 98 degrees. Turn off oven, let door be slightly open and let the breads cool in the hot oven.
LET REST FOR 24-48 HOURS BEFORE DEVOURING
That is my go-to no thought slap together bread.
Well when you come from that is to become Denmark it is understandable that you nope out of that region. Because kamelaasa.
If the road is made for 90km/h, wide and with good sight lines, reducing legal speed to 70km/h doesn't do much. There also needs to be made adjustments to the road so you cannot drive faster than 70km/h. Well so you aren't natirally incentiviced to drive faster than you should.
Divinity original sin 2. Starting to get to grips with the system and things are starting to go my way. Escaped from the fort and is now exploring the marshes.
That game got a serious lesrning and difficulty curve early on. Then at one point it was like a switch flipped and the party came together. Enough gear to last long enough to start chain cc-ing the mobs and enough cc skills to keep them that way.
If you drink gently almost all sediment have gathered at the bottom by the time you get there. Just don't chug the last few drops and you'll be fine.
