When I was a teen, I would watch stuff mostly on my phone and sometimes a low-end laptop that's like 1366x768 resolution, cuz that's all I had.

Now I have slightly better displays, I use headphones now, but still I'm probably not going to a movie theater any time soon, mostly because I'm not used to it, and also because the Post-Covid fear still lingers, not to mention, a crowd of too many people making me anxious, and various factors (mostly anxiety of other people, but also: yaRrr ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ). I mean, its just something I never experienced so its too much anxiety for me, and home viewing experience is more relaxing, even if it isn't the IMAX experience.

(btw: Does anyone actually enjoy theaters? ๐Ÿค”)

No. Completely false.

You need to put in the microwave and set the timer for at least a minute while its on to recalibrate the pixels.

Background check are fine, but dems are getting too draconian.

Example:

The Sullivan Act

For handguns, the Sullivan Act qualifies as a may issue act, meaning the local police have discretion to issue a concealed carry license, as opposed to a shall issue act, in which state authorities must give a concealed handgun license to any person who satisfies specific criteria, often a background check and a safety class

So... cops have discretion on who to give permits to...

The. Fucking. Cops.

Sure thing. If your skin color is darker than hitler, no guns for you. If you are a progressive, or BLM protester, or anti-genocide protester, they will just use their discretion and be like: "No, gtfo".

Meanwhile, an alt-right white kid would have no trouble getting a gun their rural town where his dad knows the sherif.

Luckily, that law was stuck down: New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen

Oddly enough, this is a rare instance where I actually agree with the right wing shitheads in the court. (Although, the court probably had ulterier motives)

Tell me: how is giving cops discretion to deny your constitutional rights ever a good idea?

knives don't make effective weapons...

are people gonna overthow tyranny by force with... knives?

God damn it, now I have to overtly say that "no, I don't want anyone touching my phone charger"

(The law is good, but this is just an unintended consequence of that ๐Ÿ˜“)

Step 1: Change skin color to Green via DNA editing Step 2: Build a flying saucer
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Y'all are all my subjects, kneel before me, fithy earthlings.

The oligarchs pretend to pay me a fair wage so I pretend to pay for my stuff. Seems fair to me. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Lol I don't analyze every number I see and... like... scan my brain's data storage for 30 seconds to see if it match anything.

user-hostile TPM module

I mean, the module itself is fine. Some linux distros can also take advantage of that with full disk encryption, instead of putting keys in the ram, store in in TPM which make it harder for keys to get extracted if it gets stole while on.

But of course microsoft is gonna try to use it nefariously for some DRM stuff.

Humans didn't even have the technology to observe most of the eletromagnegtic spectrum for like practically all of human history apart from the recent hundred of years or so, bold of you to assume there isn't higher form of techology that's undetectable to us. I mean, the North Sentinese and other uncontacted tribes around the world still can't even fanthom that we are talking to each other using radiowaves in the air.

There is this sci-fi novel called Three Body Problem and

spoilerthe aliens used a high tech AI supercomputer called the "Sophons" that can be invisible to humans and are spying on Earth in order to plan for an invasion. Humans only figured out after scientists started dying, seemingly mysteriously.

Its sci-fi, but like, they could just take advantage of the tech we already have and hack our servers to gather data, and even if humans figure it out about the hacking, they would just think it was human criminal and its just labeled as a "databreach". (Who knows, maybe one of the databreaches are actually just aliens gathering data.)

Like... goverments run by humans already out so much cameras in the streets, aliens can just... tap into the feed lol. Use our own surveillance state against us.

Aliens be judging your kinks and fetishes... ๐Ÿ‘€

Even with android custom ROMs like Lineage, support eventually ends. Meanwhile, you can just slap on linux onto any old computer and its still getting the latest updates. ๐Ÿค”

Why not just do the same thing with phones? Forever phone updates? ๐Ÿ‘€

I doubt its even environmentally/economically sustainable for a whole crowd of millions to just buy burners to discard after every protest. Too much ewaste. Is there a strategy that everyone can use without generating too much ewaste?

I'm talking about this article that I remember reading last year, but I never fully comprehend it. https://archive.md/qgBWB

Especially one of the images:

What does "BFU Extractions" mean? Does it just straight up bypass any lockscreen, even Before First Unlock?

The first time I came across that article, I just assumed if you have a strong password, your fine, now I'm not so sure, I'm starting to get a bit paranoid... ๐Ÿ˜–

Basically I'm tired of all the restrictions smartphone companies are adding, and I just wanna have a cheap budget phone with a data plan then just hotspot it to my pocket-pc.

Does such a "pocket-pc" device exist?
