Old gnome was great. Was like the best middle ground. Enough options to tweak stuff, but not plasma levels of knobs. Le sigh

For sure. Plenty of times I've had to go power cycle a little desk printer just for it to work again. Oddly, commercial label printers (like TSC) have been surprisingly ok, even in large industrial shops.

Maybe it's the environments I work in, but WiFi printing always ends in tragedy.

I'm all for the spirit of 'return to monke' , but short of major disasters there's no turning back. Not for the vast majority.

All our advancements are not all negative. Life spans now are drastically higher on average. Simple things like soap, antibiotics etc.

Used to be a field repair tech for several oems. The XPS usually suffered hinge issues. They decided it was a good idea to use press fitted standoffs in plastic to anchor the screen hinges...and the plastic is not very thick.
