Yeah, machine learning actually has a ton of very useful applications in things. It’s just predictably the dumbest and most toxic manifestations of it are hyped up in a capitalist system.

Davis, and the areas near it, is famously bike friendly. There are bike lanes pretty much everywhere, and the car drivers are acclimated to bike transit enough that they aren’t crazy dangerous.
Sacramento is a bigger city, so it’s probably a bit harder to really bike transform it fully, but hopefully the process continues.
To be honest, while they likely did something very stupid, they aren’t really the true cause here. If not them, something else would trigger it just the same. It’s just the end result of mismanagement of the commons by corporations, and global warming. Less easy to point a finger at, but the real core of the problem.
