Thank you. Still the best app out right now

[–] sandblast@lemmy.one 2 points 2 years ago

About a week. I've been using it for maybe 30 minutes a day.

Opened up app info today to see 3.5 GB of cache. No images saved. Anyone else have this?

They have legitimate stalanists. Some are critical of stalin some, for some reason, support him uncritically. No one wants to discuss things in good faith with them even if they are respectful, just call them tankies. So why do they need to feel like they need to be bastions of debate? If you don't like their community just block it.

Workers say the lead and creators were dicks, tough to work with. Investor and largest shareholder bought out a majority share, is now currently fighting to keep the IP and excise the lead/creators under the guise that they weren't good for company culture.

My personal view, disregard it if you want to make your own judgements, it doesn't matter if the guy is a dick, this is what they created. Saying it's what was best for the company seemingly only seems to be best for one guy. You don't get to use being a piece of shit to work with, even if 100% true, as a reason to conspire against and force everyone out of the company. You open clear cut dialogue and boundaries, then make compromises. This youtuber's video that goes into much more depth and eloquently explains my position.

Here's the link for anyone interested. I have watched that video and still firmly believe it was a hostile take over.

Don't pay for disco elysium. The creators were ousted in a hostile takeover, ironically. Pirate it if you can. Otherwise great list 🙂

I've never used obsidian but the people who make thousands of anki cards, release them for free, and allow the community to add important ones of their own has saved me many times.

We updated to the newest version, 0.18.0. I feel like we should make an issue report megathread. For some reason lemmy.one is showing me old posts from 2020, but isn't doing so on lemmy.ml.

Just tried this out. Blown away with how much you've achieved in such little time.

There is NSFW stuff I'd like to see that isn't porn.

Came across this controversial link where someone says that a VPS would be more secure than a VPN provider. From my understanding:

-Wouldn't the VPS provider just see everything instead of a VPN provider? -Wouldn't fingerprinting be straightforward, even if you use a hardened browser, since you have a single IP traceable directly to only one user?

ytcombinator doesn't seem to take it seriously but I'm curious to hear what you all think about it.

Can't count the number of times a privacy related youtuber was recommending questionable tools due to sponsorships. Refreshing to see reasoning and user input taken into account when deciding what tools are recommended. In a matter of weeks I've been able to transition to a much more private and secure lifestyle that would've been a pain without the site.
