rat-salute thank you for the information. I suspected it was just some bullshit tropes that they have been repeating endlessly in their echo chamber.

farnsworth good news everyone!

Over on reddit-logo world news, they've decreed that Iran deserved it and those in the tv station were propagandists who had ample time to flee. Also they deserved it because Iran beheads people and stones people and does things that reddit-logo thinks are bad but curiously vague and seems like something they heard about but nevermind they're clearly bad and everyone there deserves to die if they don't immediately topple the big bad Ayatollah.

I swear literal smooth brains over there that accept the word of western propaganda without a second thought, while not even realizing how much they've come to love the taste of boot.

I've been playing Gem Miner TD demo, it's like an old warcraft 3 mod, that has you building a mazing and being given random towers to protect your miner. I adore it. Very eager for the full release.

Mostly been playing Lies of P dlc that came out. Too me about ten hours to replay far enough to access it which was a good refresher for it because it is harder than the original game. They've thankfully added some difficulty settings that give you damage reduction so you can last long enough to learn some boss fights better before dying after missing two attacks. I've really enjoyed the settings, (a zoo and a carnival were awesome) the bosses less so, but probably because of the constant dying. They also really enjoy throwing a mini boss with more health than you can burst through and they can two shot you. I've died more to those mini bosses than the actual bosses. Pretty fun though.

Is it different from the original and it's sequels at all? It seems like it is a shot for shot remake.

Even more wild, Beck or wright, convinced metric to loan them a song for the movie to turn into a clash at demon head song (clash at demon head was inspired by metric among other bands), and brie Larson sings it on the movie soundtrack. So black sheep was a song metric had unreleased because it it was too metric for them, but it lives now.

We had a teacher shortage, and now we have funding problem because international students basically were covering 50% of university bills because their tuition was inflated so much. The feds have basically crippled foreign student intake in programs so the teacher shortage is likely to get even worse. When I attended in the mid 00s my department already wasn't allowed to print class outlines because it wasn't approved in the budget for teachers. Can't imagine it's gotten better now.

Sounds like an extremely long version of "I can excuse transphobia because it has a lib approved diversity cast otherwise."

And, this doofus doesn't even understand that Snape wasn't even fully reformed. He literally turns against the dark lord of evil because a girl he likes doesn't agree with the dark lord of evil and so she gets killed. Snape never says the dark lord was wrong, he is just personally angry with him for killing his girl. He doesn't even like Harry, he only tolerates him because it's all that left of his crush. If potters mum had sided with dark lord of all evil then Snape would've remained a baddie.

Ugh I hate that potter nerds can't even properly defend their own shitty franchise.

Yeah those are all hard ones iirc, cruelty took me about ten hours of grinding to finish it. Jokerless probably would take another 50, and I can't commit to that. I want to actually play the fun part of the game with jokers and such.

They gave away tiny Tina's wonderlands last week so I put about 2 hours into and it's pretty much a borderlands game with some differences. The overworld is a massive improvement over the shitty open world of the prior games. The writing is mostly forgettable so far, which might be good? Who knows?

Horizon forbidden west I've crossed the mountain and I guess this is where the real game begins? It's good, the combat has a good flow to it, the story so far is interesting, but we'll see if the whole strangers from space thing works out or not.

Challenge modes were so fun and interesting; the last couple are brutal, with the final one being too much that I just looked up how people managed it.

Call the volcel police we're about to lose some fluids here!

So you might have heard that Calgary is currently under heavy water restrictions due to a feeder water main suffering a catastrophic leak that flooded parts of the city, a 2m wide pipe. They initially told us to expect at least a week for repairs to be finished. But as of yesterday we learned the damage is more severe and expect another 3-5 weeks of water restrictions.

It has sucked, and the only thing that was bearable was maybe we could all better understand how to limit our use of essential resources. Well except that significant portions have refused to believe it and increased water usage. So we've been running on a thin line to barely not exceed water reserves for the city.

And the main thought going through my mind is the inability of our government to handle it because there are certain assumptions that have been made. Chiefly that we cannot allow this to impact the economy, or local businesses. So theyre exempt from the water restrictions, although several did take steps to help. Notably my employer, the largest grocery store in Canada, has been completely silent and hasn't even bothered to donate water bottles or something to help offset the water limits on people.

Any attempt to ask for the city to have businesses shut off to prevent the loss of our water has been met with a cry of liberal piggies explaining how they could not possibly survive without their paycheques... Like there is no thoughts that maybe we could just pay people to not work and they could preserve the precarious water situation by giving people an easier time? I also fully expect most of them refuse to go without brunch or fancy dinners out on the town. Treats before anything else!

Basically there is no vision for better solutions because everyone needs to work to get paid and any attempt around it is shouted down as impossible. It is further hindered of course by the Alberta provincial government being so far right wing that the very idea of even asking them for assistance is a fools errand when our premier is highly likely to promote conspiracy theories about the water main break.

This also is further proof of the failure of western powers to bother with maintaining basic infrastructure to ensure this shit doesn't happen. Supposedly the pipe was checked in April, but this is literally a pipe installed in the 1970s and so considering all the issues they're discovering (but not disclosing, which just feeds the conspiracy narrative), the maintenance has been far below sufficient to say the least. But because it is underground it is out of sight out of mind.

Sorry for the rant but nobody in my home or work wants to listen to me. And I've needed to get this off my chest and my work has conveniently given me far more hours than I can comfortably handle in the next 3 weeks so I'm not in a great state of mind.

Death to Canada.
