If you aren't in a rush the orange big box usually has good deals around black Friday on green, red, orange, blue, and yellow.

It depends on what you want. If you aren't using them to eat and pay the mortgage I'd recommend green. Orange is just slightly better green. If you want something nicer that you can abuse go yellow. If you want to have the new hotness to show off get red. Blue has a ton of third party and knockoff stuff that works with it.

That's nobody's business but the Turks.

Adam Conover did a good job explaining the phenomenon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ol4X6oc-tz8

My favorite is truck nuts. Did the truck want bottom surgery?

As someone who has a truck that does truck things you are being too generous with "most". That's almost all truck owners.

As someone who has decades of experience safely hauling loads of all shapes and sizes I'll add my two cents:

Any load hanging out the back of the truck needs to be flagged. If a car behind me could hit the cargo before my truck, it's getting a big bright flag. (most big box stores have them for free right by the exit)

Hauling anything with the tailgate down is asking for problems.

Composite decking is surprisingly easy to snap when unsupported. He should have pulled the back of the unibody off with a trailer for this. (Or jackknifed it into the shiny dumpster failing to back it up)

Anything that you could see blowing around in a tornado needs to be strapped down. Almost anything will fly out of a bed at highway speeds. Ratcheting straps in an x from corner to corner for 90% of the time.

Every truck has ratcheting straps ready to go. Otherwise it's just a pavement princess/dick extender/soothing balm for fragile masculinity.

I completely get where you are coming from.

The Republicans have been pushing all this shit since before I was born and the Democrat's answer has been small business loans to compete against the corporate consolidation they take no steps to slow and other neoliberal bullshit. The Democrats complete capitulation to the right wing surge, and complete fumbling of creating economic policies that doesn't breed disillusioned youth ripe to be picked by fascists, has left a festering wasteland. I don't think more hurting will somehow make anything better or convince people that the grifters selling them snake oil are wrong. I'm worried that the muscles of empathy and compassion are too weak to pull anything good from the ashes.

I don't know how to convince more people to care about their neighbors, but I do know that is the only way to make anything worth having. Even if they are an asshole. The system doesn't need any help destroying itself. Capitalism and fascism are death cults. What we need is more people showing good examples of horizontal mutual aid. Helping someone who needs help can teach a better lesson than hurting them. Even if they are an asshole.

You have a very good point. When left alone too long they reinvent Stalinist and Maoist failed policies like the OK politician with the "no man, no problem" approach to journalists and the "Every american should have to be a farmer for a year" from a bit ago.

A couple years ago I got a handful of F clamps for christmas.

My wife: "I thought you already have clamps"

Me: "Yes, I do. But not enough."

Wife: "How many is enough?"

Me: "One more than I have."

Also a little 18ga brad nailer makes those glueups way easier.
