The movement would have been incorporated into mainstream liberal electoralism

Which kind of happened anyway, but alas

Good video. Do you mind putting the author’s handle in the video title or description?

The military and the police are definitely distinct with their own peculiar mentalities. It’s just not a good/bad distinction as being promoted on BS. And it’s not going to cause military personnel to disobey orders.

There are many people in the military who, although they are indoctrinated during their entire employment, don’t necessarily join specifically in order to do evil. We could debate how much that absolves them morally. But I think one has to hold a special kind of ideology before applying to join the police. On the other hand, people usually join the military for nationalistic reasons which are less compatible with turning guns on Americans. Of course with all the necessary caveats that it doesn’t take much to change that.

Overall it’s a bad idea to ever doubt the military’s ability to turn against its own people, regardless of how favorably they compare with police.

The idea would be very disingenuous because it would require ignoring the abundance of US actions and policies that have done the opposite. US foreign policy cannot be understood through a lens of democracy. Only a lens of empire is coherent.

Link aggregators are intrinsically not neutral, and it’s quite silly for redditors to pretend otherwise

What happened her?

“At the Wank Mountain in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, this Wankbahn brings you to the Wankhaus on top, where there's a Wank View observation area.

Wank Tickets cost €27, but there's also an unlimited "Wank Leisure Pass" for €175 that's pretty handy.”

Limited time offer. I have an upcoming trip and I’m looking for something to watch. Is Star Trek actually good, or only nostalgic? Should I just search for episode 1 and press play, or is there something I need to know first?

I looked at the article for Campari.

The average Wikipedia enjoyer might expect the Critics section to be about critique of the flavor or ingredients; or that, at least, a critic might be mentioned. The ranking of this section as the second thing about Campari, right after History but before Use, indicates the importance of knowing about these Critics.

As of December 2024, Campari Group continues to operate in Russia. Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Campari Group announced the suspension of all investments in Russia, including advertising and promotional activities, and scaled down operations to the minimum necessary to pay its local staff. Despite these measures, Campari's products remain available in the Russian market.[5] In August 2023, reports indicated that Campari planned to introduce a new aperitif, Sarti Rosa, in Russia, suggesting a potential expansion of its product offerings in the country.[6][7]

and I can see why Marx felt compelled to dunk on it, despite the amount of work it would have required.

I’ve only read a little bit, but so far it’s a bunch of jagoff jagoff jagoff jagoff jagoff

I mean, just read this from the opening paragraphs:

Is it my fault if belief in Divinity has become a suspected opinion; if the bare suspicion of a Supreme Being is already noted as evidence of a weak mind; and if, of all philosophical Utopias, this is the only one which the world no longer tolerates? Is it my fault if hypocrisy and imbecility everywhere hide behind this holy formula?

Sorry but this reads like it was written by a smug lemmitor user. I get the distinct impression that Proudhon doesn’t want to be understood, he wants to be revered. He would have fit right into 2010 r/atheism.

Also I’m sorry if anyone catches strays from this post, I don’t personally mind if you like Proudhon, but I might judge you for it

I’m slowly rebuilding people I followed on TikTok if they end up on RedNote.

So far my list is pretty light, but one is an American communist who goes by LexLoser. Only a few of his videos are up though.

If you have good profiles to follow, feel free to post em here

In light of the ceasefire deal, I expect to see comments to the effect that a lack of defeat is a win; or worse, that the genocide was worth it because of some abstract moral victory for Palestine.

Those of us raised in Christian environments too easily see virtue in suffering. We want to believe that suffering is productive, that even if we suffer materially, we are raised spiritually or in our moral constitution. Of course, this could be true in certain cases, but most of the time, suffering is traumatic and bad with no upside. It’s okay to say that. You don’t have to find a silver lining.

If you aren’t Palestinian or know people directly affected by the genocide, you shouldn’t opine about whether it was morally or emotionally worth it. Only Palestinians, the ones directly suffering and therefore capable of evaluating the real cost, get to determine that.
