All these people shitting on hexbear made me discover it a few months ago. I was kinda accepting shitty things on other Lemmy instances such as libbed up shit and anti veganism as Im used to it IRL.

Finding hexbear was a godsent. The coomunity always feels very nice. I learn a lot of historical shit and can re experience the feeling of message boards on the late 90s early 2000s.

I still have no clue how to use the emoji pictures everyone's been using though. I copied one once in a post and gave up in all my subsequent ones lmao

I feel the same. However what I've noticed over the years is that my ability to deal with my worst bouts without breaking too much as a human has improved a lot.

Now, I can stabilize myself at feeling empty or apathic where as before I was spiraling into anxious intrusive thoughts.

I got better at recognizing when I was sinking and applying mechanisms that help me not sink too much until I get back to baseline.

I also now better understand which situations actually fuck me up when I'm down in the hole and try to avoid them as much as I can.

In a way it does get better without actually getting better as I understood it(meaning how I thought my recovery would go) when I first became conscious of being depressed.

Fuck animal exploitation, be it for profit or not.

I’m not too versed on the subject on lesser-evil voting and the arguments against. Anyone willing to educate me and share resources about it please?

Disclaimer: I’m not american so don’t try to persuade me to vote or not vote in this election as I’m tired of having to explain to people that not everyone on the internet is from the USA.

Apart from the fact she’s probably trying to dogwhistle here, I’m pretty confident she has no trouble eating animals she doesn’t consider pets. Would she then apply the same logic to herself? I’m calling on the Home Secretary of UK to look into this, if she’s eating dead animal bodies or secretions what else is she capable of?

Anyway, this picture is a clear exemple of Animalization of the bodies of oppressed people. The Ko sisters have written a lot on this subject when presenting what they term as black veganism and how speciesm can be also used on oppressed groups.
