My uninformed take on this is that its almost impossible because countries have different power standards. Of course i may be entirely wrong, or correct but with an entirely incorrect reasoning. Please people who actually know correct me below

Brand is HP/Samsung

Yea, I feel like we all had a feeling before even reading that part. Can't offer any advice other than getting a different brand, as well as this link to a fun little article I read from a few posts above yours in my feed:

Easy. Go out of your way to post a negative comment about what someone else is sharing, instead of just scrolling past it

Easiest one that comes to mind is the archlinux.org forums. It pops up constantly in searches, even if youre not searching for an arch specific problem, so I used it even before daily driving arch. Now I have an account on there and have made a few posts seeking help. Most of the time though someone has already asked it, and someone else has already provided a solution.

It seems so and I wasn't aware it would be this bad :(

When I click the link it doesn't even take me to the darksouls sublemmy, but rather asks me if I want to open my email client. I guess that's the reason for all the downvotes.

Steam links don't seem to work for the app for whatever reason, but thanks anyway

This seems like it could be useful info if it takes off

Pulp fiction for the movie, and friends for the show

Just out of curiosity, what did you dislike about matrix? I use it, but for only a couple specific rooms so far, so im curious what your experience was with it

After the (temporary) defederation announcement of earlier i checked the Lemmy repo to see if there was already a ticket on the federation limiting option like Mastodon's that people mentioned Lemmy doesn't yet have. Not only i didn't find it, i also saw that there's about 200+ open tickets of variable importance. Also saw that it's maintained mostly by the two main devs, the difference in commits between them and even the next contributors is vast. This is normal and in other circumstances it'd grow organically, but considering the huge influx of users lately, which will likely take months to slow down, they just don't have the same time to invest on this, and many things risk being neglected. I'm a sysadmin, haven't coded anything big in at least a decade and a half beyond small helper scripts in Bash or Python, and haven't ever touched Rust, so can't help there, but maybe some of you Rust aficionados can give some time to help essentially all of Lemmy. The same can be said of Kbin of course, although that's PHP, and there is exacerbated by it being just the single dev.

Hey guys, I would like to install Debian on my raspberry pi 4 model B 2gb, but I dont have a micro HDMI. I would like to install it headless. I watched a video where the guy created some files in the boot partition on the SD card to enable SSH, and I was wondering if I can do something similar with a Debian SD so I dont need to go out and buy a cable.

I couldn't find too many tutorials for Debian on the pi, and none to install it headless.

Thanks in advance!

Edit 1: I ended up going with raspbian lite because of some other issues that came up.

Hey everyone. Is there a way for us to view out private message conversations? If not, are there any plans to implement such a feature? I feel like it will sooner rather than later become a very important functionality, especially with regards to moderating.

What kanguages are you all learning?

Hey guys, have a pic if my cherry tomatos which I recently transplanted.

Also, for anyone who'd like it, I created

containergardening

Its meant to be what r/containergardening was

Hey everyone, Ive created a sublem (community) because I saw it was missing on here and I liked it on reddit, but now that Im the mod of it Id like any help/advice on how to effectively moderate through Jerboa. Is it possible or do I need to do it through the web interface? Thanks in advance!

As the title sais, if I create a community I feel is missing, would it be expected/good practice of me to moderate it, or does that work differently?
