I'll never understand why it's so hard for some people to understand that the US is literally an evil empire that exploits, oppresses, and murders people all over the world. Of course all rightwing governments suck, but it's easy to see that the US is the primary enemy of leftist movements across the planet. If we want communism, we need the US to collapse and movements all over the place preventing the vacuum from being filled by something worse.

Idk seems like anyone left of liberals would understand this.

VP to Obama, the supreme communist leader. Only a communist liberal could do that job. That's how joe Brandon won, the communist elite and the communist corporations were all on his side.

I'm old enough to know what this is, but I've never even heard of teletext. At first I assumed it just didn't make it to the US, but apparently it was around in the late 80s and just never really caught on enough for me to know about it in a rural area

Half of this is expensive, but the higher quality stuff usually is.

  • I highly recommend trying to buy good cookware (if you cook a lot). Even just one good stainless steel pan is a game changer. I've had some for 20 years and they still look new and aren't even coated in poison. I have no idea how much they cost these days, but I expect a lot more than a cheap one. Cast iron is a good alternative to stainless steel, but harder to maintain and can retain tastes/smells

  • An air filter if you live anywhere with air pollution (every city) or a fire season. The cheap option is to get a box fan and put a big central AC filter on it.

  • A plunger for the toilet and one for the sink/shower/tub.

  • Something to trap hair before it goes down the drain and maybe you won't need a plunger

  • A fire extinguisher

Sounds fake. Anyone find a link to the actual statement anywhere? A video? Anything other than social media posts?

This really explains my childhood obsession with sporks.

What? Is this real? I've never heard about this before. I remember that they worked security at the same place, but not that Chauvin owed Floyd money or that they even really knew each other.

We should temporarily re-federate just to gloat about it

Alaska is so fucked if they don't improve living conditions for higher temps quickly. I live further south, but still in a place where AC is uncommon and it sucks so much when it gets up over 85°. I can't imagine how hot it gets when all your homes are built specifically for subzero temps and don't even have fucking ceiling fans. People already die every year in places that are somewhat prepared for hot weather.

Edit: omg I didn't even think about how they get 22 hours of daylight during the summer

I've looked at a few lists here and there, but it seems like there just aren't many co-ops that recruit strangers online. Anyone have any experience working for a co-op as a dev? It seems like it would be an awesome way to structure a small web/app dev team. Part of me wants to try to start one myself, but it's hard to imagine maintaining the motivation needed for a task like that when I can barely function as it is.

Anyway, what's up with the lack of cooperatives? Sorry if this is the wrong comm, seemed like the best place
