If it's spoilers, then mark it NSFW? That's literally how that always worked on the other site.

"Just following orders."

It really, really isn't. Adding a "non-steam game" is trivial via applications like Lutris, Heroic & Bottles. That's quite literally how I play half my games, which are pirated.

As for why you would want to in the first place, gamemode is literally the only controller-friendly launcher that exists on Linux. No one's bothered competing. As soon as one does pop up I'd imagine Bazzite will integrate it but until such time well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's dead easy under Bazzite using Lutris or Bottles. Maybe I should write up a guide and post it here at some point.

Bazzite uses the exact same package, for gamemode, that SteamOS does, on a handheld.

Skillet's are also great, but I'm disabled and that is hard work for me.

Hey everyone

We’re really sorry to say this, but lemm.ee will be shutting down on June 30, 2025.

What you need to know

As of now:

  • New user registrations are disabled
  • Creating new communities is disabled

What you should do:

  • You can export your settings at https://lemm.ee/settings to take them with you to another instance.
  • If you're moving to another instance, consider adding a note to your lemm.ee profile with your new username. Your old profile will still be visible from other instances even after we go offline.
  • Alternatively, if you want to delete your lemm.ee profile, now is the best time to do it, so the deletion can federate out before we go offline.
  • If you're one of the folks supporting us with a recurring donation, please remember to cancel it (Ko-Fi donations should have been cancelled automatically already). Our leftover funds are already enough to cover our bills for next month, so we can keep things running without any more support.

Because of how Lemmy is built, everything posted on lemm.ee will still be accessible from other instances, even after we go offline.

Why this is happening

The key reason is that we just don’t have enough people on the admin team to keep the place running. Most of the admin team has stepped down, mostly due to burnout, and finding replacements hasn’t worked out.

The sad reality is that while there are a lot of great people on Lemmy, there are also some who use the platform to attack others, stir up conflict, or actively try to undermine the project. Admins are volunteers who deal with the latter group on a constant basis, this takes a mental toll. Please understand why our admins chose to step down, and be kind to the admins on whatever instance you decide to join.

We know this sucks. We're genuinely sorry it’s ending like this. Thank you to everyone who spent time here and helped make it better.

I strongly believe the government needs to be the one telling LGBTQ+ travellers not to go to the US. They have warnings for other countries that don't accept X gender markers on passports, and the US has by all accounts started deporting everyone that tries to enter with one.

Article from January 2025:

The United States Health and Human Services Department (HHS) published a landmark report on intersex health equity last week, calling for an end to medically unnecessary non-consensual surgeries on children born with intersex variations.

The report, based on a literature review and listening sessions with intersex people, ethicists, and medical professionals, states that “the over 5 million intersex people in our nation deserve to live healthy and fulfilling lives free from stigma and discrimination.”

Children born with variations in their sex characteristics, sometimes called intersex traits, are often subjected to “normalizing” surgeries that are irreversible, risky, and medically unnecessary. Approximately 1.7 percent of people have an intersex trait, meaning intersex variations are not uncommon, but often misunderstood.

Genuinely amazed this managed to still be released under the current regime and wasn't buried. Directly goes against Trump's EO that there are only two sexes.

I just watched this official video from Framework that does a deep dive into their new desktop and the chip that powers it. Right near the end, CEO Nirav Patel name drops Bazzite as a distro partner, and declares 2025 the year of the Linux gaming desktop!
