Yeah, I travelled solo a few times to see if it was for me, and generally it left me feeling very lonely and disconnected from everyone around me, and uncomfortable going anywhere like a restaurant or a bar.

I expected "and there's a group of screaming teenagers in the room with you... This is what it's like trying to make a plan with the likes of Donald Trump and Elon Musk in the room"

This idea is too good to not exist

I found the concept hard to get a grip on

I would watch this. Especially if it was an angry Brit, rather than a dramatic American. And even more if it didn't keep replaying the same 5 minutes of telly before and after each ad break. And even more if it didn't have an ad break every 10 minutes that lasted 5 minutes.

I literally said this today, to my wife and I meant "an area exactly like a children's playground, but suitably large enough for adults to use".

And still not by voiced languages.

There are a good few Isaac Asimov books like this.

Learning a new language, I can speak and understand pretty well now, but reading is a great way to expand vocabulary I think.

I'm rereading the entire discworld series but in a new language and I'm just loving it. I'm just about to finish equal rites, and I'd honestly forgotten what a joy these books are. I miss Terry Pratchett and his profoundly positive impact on me.

I was just explaining a misunderstanding, that being heckler vs hawker... I think you've replied to the wrong comment?

I think they're referring to hawkers, or people on the streets harassing you to buy something. I don't know why everyone here is calling them hecklers and not confused by that.

Hey!

I want to encourage economic activity within Europe and also ethically align with recycled materials etc.

I'm trying to buy myself a hydration pack for running long distance with, and it's hard to convince myself of anything better than osprey:

  • I'm familiar with the company and they have high standards
  • they have a great guarantee to repair products
  • they use recycled materials
  • the product "Duro 6" fits every requirement that I have

Before I go ahead and buy that, can anyone suggest an equal or better product produced in Europe.

Edit: I ended up with Salomon and it's great!

Hey everyone,

I have a gaming laptop with fedora installed and in general have no problems with it. However I would like to play some games on it from Steam.

So I installed the Nvidia drivers and when the laptop is not using an external monitor it's great, the games performance are 10/10.

However I most often use my laptop plugged into an ultrawide monitor and when I do that with the Nvidia driver active all sorts of strangle artifacts show up on the screen and the edges go blue and shudder, this slowly gets worse over the course of about 15 minutes until I cannot use the laptop at all and need to reboot.

Using the built in drivers the ultrawide monitor is completely fine, but games run very poorly.

Does any one have any experience with this, and any idea if there's something I can do to correct it?
