Why are they waiting so long?

Best case scenario is a Metroid Direct, but it doesn't seem very likely. It's either a September release, and if so it's weird that we don't have a date yet, or something else.

Maybe i'm trippin, but what if MP4 IS the holiday release and the game is so much bigger for Nintendo than anyone expected? In that case it's probable that we will get a full reveal like the one from the Donkey Kong Direct, that completely changed the perception around the game: from "It looks good" to "I must play this".

Yes, between Metroid and Metroid 2. But this doesn't have that much impact on story/mechanics themselves

In this case maybe it's the other way around since Super Metroid predates NGE 1 year! Also there were concept arts circulating since the first Metroid in 1986. Who knows..

Wow I never made the connection with Evangelion! Now that I think about it the Varia suit is very similar to Asuka's EVA!

I believe they already stated that the Phazon storyline ended with Prime 3, so I'm pretty sure we won't have phazon suits

I'll go with Dread power suit. I think its slickness and the combination of colors is unmatched. About MP4, I think that we won't have the classic Power-Varia-Gravity upgrades but something that maybe enhances her psychic power?

Hi all!

I’m a huge (if recent) Metroid fan. I discovered the franchise a few years ago with Fusion and right about that time Dread was announced so I was instantly hooked. If you’re here, you probably know the rest. Since I left that other platform I sorely miss my daily metroid fix and since there was no metroid community (that I could find at least) on lemmy I decided to create one!

[Update: created a new community on this instance after lemm.ee closed]

There are no specific rule regarding the content of the posts other than they have to be metroid related (duh), but there are rules about the way we interact with each other. Basically just the stuff that makes you a decent human being: no homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, ableism, etc…

Just be nice to each other and build a great community.
