Because as we see in this post, the artist could prove themselves. Other artists could time lapse themselves to show they are authentic. Im not saying no harm is being done, but artists could defend themselves.

When an ai steals an artists work and allows people to recreate art in their style, how would they defend themselves? If a voice actors voice is stolen and used for voice over videos without compensation or consent then how will they defend themselves? We're talking about maybe being able to sue someone over it but you have less recourse and the damage is potentially greater.

And I'm also just thinking beyond artists alone. There can be automated highly targeted vishing attacks now which i think is a scary fucking thing.

Or take the Russian invasion of Ukraine where Russia has intentionally bombed civilian buildings to spread fear. Drones and UAVs are being guided by AI and if a country really wanted to, they could train them to target any sign of life, combatant or not.

So imo an artist being falsely accused of using ai it does suck, but they have options. I think having your work directly stolen is worse, and beyond just artists AI scares the living hell out of me. There's a lot of reasons to hate or fear AI. Being falsely accused of AI isn't the literal worst thing that has come from AI in the past 70 years.

Sure but the original message essentially was "i think people(not specifically artists) have been removed from social media [over being accused of using ai"

It was a theoretical "iirc" and not a specific instance.

So in this theoretical instance of an artist being kicked from a community over being accused of using ai then surely the community leaders would be willing to watch a time lapse of them make art to confirm they are legitimate and remove the ban.

It would be inconvenient and annoying but it's not likely to be the literal worst thing that comes from ai. Inb4 "what if the mods are unreasonable and don't remove the ban!" Well, then the ai accusation is a red herring and that community would've already been under some pretty bad leadership and a ticking time bomb for any number of other reasons.

I think the appropriate response from an ambassador to a question they don't know the answer is "let me find out and get back to you", not "please stop asking me questions!".

Fair enough, though i gotta be honest "kicked from subreddits" sent me. We're talking about people's livilihoods here, not kicked from a social media community.

Truly the worst part of AI is all of the accusations against real people and their work.

Idk. Being accused of using an AI is an inconvenience. Having your work stolen by AI seems magnitudes "worse"

Sure, terribly invasive though. And probably not up to code in whatever HOA hell this looks like lol

If it really bothers you, extend the garden and add landscape rocks. Grass is ugly no matter the state it is in

Arch install makes installation easy.

The drones have a spool of fiber optic cable. Some spools can reach 40km. The spool unwinds as the drone flies and yes it would either lead back to the operator or they could in theory have a node that it connects to and then from there connect to operator via cable or wireless. Really fascinating stuff imo

How they work:

Hell yeah! That would be hilarious.

But it would be a huge investment to actually get the temple recommend. Itd be a big time commitment and you would definitely need to lie to tell them you're in between jobs so they don't expect tithing from you. Last i knew (been out for many years) it was a minimum of a year to get a temple recommend all the while you're pretending to be Mormon.

Now if you really want to commit to the bit then my recommendation would be to get the temple recommend, go through the temple, then the next month during fast and testimony meeting bear your testimony about how great the temple experience was and how you feel so blessed to hold the priesthood as a transman. Legit would be a bombshell lmao. 😅

I will say that i still keep tabs on my old local ward where there is a transboy, and there are varying levels of support from the congregation. Officially the church as an institution are a bunch of fucking bigots (cw:anti trans policies) , but i do know in my local ward the transboy has the support of his parents and a good chunk of the congregation. There is a chance that if you had fun with the missionaries they might play it as cool and have nothing wrong with it personally but if you ask pointed questions about the churches teachings they'd have to explain it to you. Honestly might be a good opportunity if you manage to find an ally-leaning missionary and walk them through the cognitive dissonance of trying to be an ally while supporting an institution that is terribly bigoted. One of the three big things to break my shelf was basically me realizing that

I mean you can always call the missionaries in your area and ask for a visit lmao. Not quite the same as them just showing up. I'm not enough of a church history buff to know what would be good in those (more so that i don't know what things they've started trying to cover up). I do have a bunch of old Mormon literature too but I've never taken time to study it.

Ive always just wanted to invite them in to play super smash brothers and have some beers. Id let them come over as much as they'd want if they promise to just take a break and never try to teach a lesson lmao
