Thanks. Fixed :)

I just use this addon for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/peertube-companion/
It automatically redirects to my own preferred instance, when I visit a PeerTube link. It can also redirect you from YouTube to PeerTube, if the video exists on Peertube.
PeerTube is part of The Fediverse, as it also uses the ActivityPub protocol. However, the PeerTube part of the Fediverse, is very fragmented. Most PeerTube instances only follow a select few other instances.
If you take a look at this page at PeerTube.wtf, you will see that the instance is connected with 1091 other PeerTube instances.
PeerTube.tv is not only running a very old version, but is also only connected to 8 other instances.
Have a look at this post, for the most inter-connected PeerTube instances: https://lemmy.wtf/post/15816115
It's really awesome and it's also possible to setup your PeerTube instance as a peer, for another PeerTube instance's videos.
You can see here:
The instance videos.abnormalbeings.space has a copy of the video 17 New Indie Games – June 2025, that's hosted on PeerTube.wtf.
So when you go to the video, you'll see it has at least 2 peers - peertube.wtf + videos.abnormalbeings.space.
You can disable the P2P feature.
If he had hosting costs, that would mean he's hosting his own PeerTube instance, which is definitely something big content creators should be doing. But he could start out with using Tilvids.com (like The Linux Experiment) or another PeerTube instance.
How does he backup his videos today? Wouldn't it make sense if you used your backup solution with your own PeerTube instance?
You can see the current median price here: https://siascan.com/
The storage providers set their own prices and the renters set how much they want to pay.
Just storing data is very cheap at $1.51/TB.
Some in the fediverse ask why I'm not on Peertube. Here's the problem (and it's not insurmountable): right now, there's no easy path towards sustainable content production when the audience for the content is 100x smaller, and the number of patrons/sponsors remains proportionally the same.
How is this preventing Jeff from also uploading his videos to PeerTube? It can literally be automated by PeerTube.
If the Linux Experiment can, then why not Jeff as well?
I have used it before and it worked just fine. Just don’t use it for PeerTube 😅
What do you mean? They are organised by PeerTube’s own categories.
