A tesla roadtrain has got to be one of the last things I'd ever want to see as mass transportation lol

7% at the end of a ~300mi roundtrip rural run is really cutting it close 😳 although if the journey is mostly flat I think it's OK, as long as there's enough range to go via any diversion if the road is blocked.

They could definitely get a bigger battery onto that roof, the main expense there probably would be customising the aircon to fit around a roof battery pack instead of buying one off the shelf

The electric buses here all have roof mounted batteries and they last pretty long - the chinese Yutongs are out all day with the heating on, but our domestic built ones seem to last only 3/4 of the day, and after that they vanish with the old diesel ones appearing on routes until the night

Check if there are any facilities in your area for secure bike storage, my nearby city for example offers free staffed bike parking and a free bus to get around. The inter city train station offers 20/7 keycard access bike parking with changing facilities, but that requires a deposit, proof of address etc.

I usually end up using one of these two facilities when I visit the city because of the rampant bike theft issues there, with the preferred one being the inter city station since it's open almost all the time

There was even a docked e-bike hire offered by the local govt, which sadly went bankrupt because people were vandalising the e-bikes and destroying the docks ☹️

Informative, and unfortunate.

100% agree with your take on the original issue - it should be a discussion between the devs, not edging along the lines of an argument. However, I do feel like the discussion would have been better suited to the dev Matrix chat or something

Even if they were upsetted by your comments, banning you was not the right way to handle that IMO.

How is this corporate hate 😂 wooow

Seems pretty neat I guess, but not for me... personally prefer to support actual voice actors making a living, putting passion into their work - not some random C suite or shareholder using AI to cut costs

Unfortunately wouldn't deter anyone where I live... addicts will flip that for $20 within an hour, and go get their drug fix, before the owner even has a chance to catch the thief

Even worse are the organized criminals driving around in SUVs looking for high end bicycles, a good few videos of them all over xitter sadly, brazen enough to follow people home and rob them in their driveway

Not my kind of bike personally, but damn that looks nice 😍 the matt black one in the back looks hella stealthy too

Damn, Waymo has been around for that long? TIL

Waymo's progress is probably a good indicator as to how far along we are with self driving cars IMO. Given that Waymo has their cars pretty thoroughly trained on set routes (well, even us humans need to learn or try various routes before we're fully confident on them sometimes), Cruise cheaping out on the whole training process is only going to accelerate their demise... especially when it's at the expense of pedestrians' safety

2016/2017 by a close friend, that was probably the last time I've had any kind of truly deep conversation with anyone.

Something happened that caused feelings of betrayal and I've kind of not really allowed myself to be that vulnerable since then
