Not your typical commuter really I don't think but happy with how this years new look is coming along.

For this year I have added carbon wheels along with new tyres, a new cassette and some new wraps for the bars. I have also added a new chain as I have been wanting to try out waxing my chain for a while so thought I'd start with a nice new, clean base to try it from.

I've been enjoying riding this new iteration of the bike, next on my list is to try changing out to a 2x drive chain. I got this 1x on purpose to help with simplifying looking after it etc but I just find myself too often in a gear that is just slightly off for what I want so I think going back to a 2x will be much better for me.

I'd be interested to see what other people ride as I realise this isn't what most people would choose to commute on xD

Anyone Europe side know of a good easily removable bike light set that recharges with USB-C?

I had knog blinders on my recently stolen bike which I liked but they were USB-A and it was starting to get annoying to recharge them

Why am I still faster than you?

Such a scenic commute, hopefully things align to allow biking more often.

I actually bike to work also, but just got this under desk bike and am really liking it. Don't feel like its distance calculator is super accurate, but supposedly I biked 30 miles yesterday. Much better than nothing either way!

Did have to tighten the bolts on my desk chair and lube it to get it to stop squeaking though

I was excited to ride to work today in the sunny spring weather. Then I saw the wind forecast. No thank you, I'll pass. I ride directly into the wind on my commute home, and am completely exposed the whole way.

Edit: For people who use proper units, 43 miles/hour is 69 km/hour.

Been considering a belt driven commuter and wanted to see what you all thought. Thanks!

Pretty good guide on commuting. I'm not sure I entirely agree on the gearing advice, but good otherwise.

Viewers were asked to collect cycling data from their cities' busiest intersection, providing a rough insight into how cycling varies across the world.

This video goes through the collected data, and some of the findings are pretty interesting IMO...

A particularly notable one is the impact of helmet laws potentially ruining commuter, utility, and casual cycling in a city.

The data was anonymized by the channel and shared for all to freely browse:

The soft pedals are an interesting idea I think, but I share the same concerns about their longevity. Some interesting books mentioned at the end too...

If you're not familiar with Shifter, this is a pretty great channel focused on urban cycling, with lots of insight and tips on to improve your commuting experience
