And for Chakotay’s arc, and for Voyager’s storylines in general, and for the time he wouldn’t let actual trans actors play in the TNG episode that was about trans folk, and for making nearly all the ladies wear skintight everything with corsets, and for…
Why doesn’t she just send these questions in a text or through Discord since that’s where the convo is taking place?
Wow, look at the time! It’s 1984 already!

I’m 40, I’ve just taken on crushing life-long debt in the hopes of having a roof over my head when I’m no longer able to work, but after singing “Independent Women!!!” all weekend, I can’t figure out how to get the cap off my washing machine drainage pipe, and now I can’t decide whether to just sit down and cry, or sit down with Angie’s List and cry, or have a go at the pipe myself and cry after fracking it up. 🤔
Decisions, decisions…
Osmosis Jones.
A half-and-half cartoon and live action film with Chris Rock as the titular character from the late-90s/early-00s. The movie was a flop, but I think it had more to do with lousy marketing. It was actually pretty good and a fun way to look at how things affect the human body.
David Hyde Pierce as the enormous Pill was a great choice, and Bill Murray was hilarious.
That’s how she turned an amazing voice into a legendary one!
It’s a mixed bag on the move. I’ve lived in my current place for 6 years and on this side of the city for an additional 12 years. Now, I’m packing up everything I have and moving into a whole different zip code, 35 minutes away from the current place.
Plus, my mother has been here for the last few days and you know how there’s highs and lows when you’re used to being on your own and suddenly your world is all in boxes and there’s people in your spaces…
But, I think it will all hit me once I see my stuff in the new house. I haven’t cried yet, but I won’t be ashamed when it probably happens later. 😅
I closed on my very first house.
I’m a 40-year-old single lady, and had my house built from scratch. It’s been a pretty long journey and since moving day is tomorrow, I’m just surrounded by a labyrinth of boxes, but it all feels pretty surreal.
It comes down to the variable weather in the US versus the UK.
The UK has maybe handful of weeks of actual hot weather, months and months of rain, and then some weeks of bitter cold. The day is more important than the month who cares if it’s March or September? It’s another day of rain and grey.
The US has extreme weather changes across the year, especially in the northeast where differences in US and UK English first began to diverge, intentionally and unintentionally. In a state like Massachusetts, knowing the month is important for things like setting the scene in letters “home” and so forth. The summer months and grossly hot. The fall/autumn is full of brilliant colors and mild weather followed by months of bitter, unrelenting cold winter. The spring months yield to green and mild weather again. Knowing that the month is April is very important because the 4th of April is going to be incredibly different from the 4th of September.

They have almost no content library these days. I’m actually surprised that it is as high as it is.
If only interest rates could drop to the same levels…
