My point was that American-style rehtoric about "commitment to free speech" is clearly suspect and is more of a theatrical activity, a social signalling method, than a meaningful political argument.

No, it's compatible with Lemmy. There are some differences, but they are relatively minor.
Lemmy users can partake in Piefed instances/communities and vice versa.

Sinners is still on my "to watch" list. I was never a big fan of Final Destination. Hoping to catch 28 year later this weekend in the cinema.

This is a difficult one.
I would probably go with Wrong Turn, not because it's particularly good, but there a large selection of easy to watch movies and I thought the reboot was pretty good.
In terms of absolute quality, I would pick the Blair Witch. I even enjoyed the sequel from the 2000s and reboot. There is a new one coming out in 2025.
I never said Lost World was better than Jurassic Park. :) I did think the book was closer to the quality of the original (but never reaching it) while the movie version was mediocre.
I am surprised they haven't released a Timeline movie yet, it seems like a good fit for a mass market movie (plus you'll have all the Crichton fans).
I don't see how this is an issue. Day to day to we don't act as if we are in a judicial institution.
