Yup, he is very intelligently positioning himself to lead the post-Trump right wing movement in the US. He's reading the wind.

I think it will go down as a meaningful indicator of the popular shift towards socialism.

No! I thought this was the one industry that China somehow wouldn't become the world leader in!

The main one was the elimination of the Large Financial Transactions Tax (LFTT) in bolivars.

This is a move to encourage investment in local currency instead of the dollar?

If you were the head of the party, what would be the most important deep structural changes to implement? You've talked a lot about increasing consumption, using MMT, etc. But I'm curious if you have suggestions about the deeper structures of government and property that are the basis of the real economy.

I primarily use stainless steel and I have two enameled cast iron as backups (just because they have to be hand washed while the steel can go in the dishwasher). They're all great and should be regularly used by my great-grandchildren.

Agreed with your analysis.

I think the most effective type of resistance we can expect given the conditions is not lethally violent but stridently resistant. Mass groups of rapid response protestors willing to hold the line and prevent them from fully carrying out raids or slow them down significantly and wearing them down in their job with tons of riot control type duty,

This is the necessary step to higher levels of militancy, too. The masses will not go from political inactivity to peaceful protest to armed revolutionary militias. They must advance through stages of struggle heightening in a dialectic with state repression. One of our key tasks as revolutionaries is to assist the masses at each of those steps, making their actions more coordinated and effective through our skills and organization while advancing a revolutionary line to keep them moving forward.

This is why many countries are desperately trying to make deals with Trump

Do you have any evidence for this

The worst event in global history since the colonization of the Americas

China's imports from ASEAN have been consistently growing.

Everyone is, rightly, talking about how emotionally fucked up they are by the genocide in Gaza. There is much commiserating about how much pain and suffering we are all experiencing by being forced to witness these events unfold. Most of us on Hexbear live under Western governments that openly endorsing it, which only compounds how horrible it feels.

If you aren't taking action as much as you're able, you need to be for a couple of reasons.

  1. The scale and speed of the crisis demands it, particularly if you are living a comfortable western lifestyle.

  2. Posting and whining without action will drive you into a terrible depression.

  3. Taking action is palliative emotional care for the person doing it.

Go to a rally, donate, but most importantly, join an organization. Let this drive you to become an active revolutionary organizer.

I have been a PSL member for about a year and a half now, but I've never been more active than in the past three weeks. I have dedicated an hour or two every day, at least, to doing concrete work on this. My message to you wailing and gnashing teeth is that it helps. I feel better when I can look at myself and say "I did not sit idly by today". At the very least, do yourself the favor of being involved.

Communism is the movement to abolish the present state of things. If you are not a real member of that movement, you are not a real communist. Step up. This should motivate you, not turn you into a helpless slug.

Being vegan in 2023 is extremely easy, but to me that seems like a relatively new phenomena.

So if I put you in my vicious time machine and sent you until the dim past, how far back would you be vegan?

I think I could make it work for most of the 1900s. But if I was in 1500 I'd give it up.

Obviously Spain has an imperial and colonial history only rivaled by the British and the French, but today it is a far less significant global player. Among EU countries, it's being much more critical of Israel than most of the rest - only much smaller countries like Ireland and Croatia are also critical.

So, what's Spain's deal? Where does it fit into the imperial system? Does it straddle a line between southern European nation internally exploited by the EU ala Greece and imperial power ala France?

  1. The IDF will be spread too thin to maintain the intensity of occupations in the West Bank and growing conflict along international borders

  2. Their rapidly crumbling international support will take a massive hit from the brutality of such an assault and could prompt direct retaliation from Hezbollah

  3. Many, many IDF soldiers will get fucking obliterated entering hyper dense urban combat against a million people with nothing left to lose

These three combine to create the likelihood that Israel would be utterly defeated in such an action. The IDF is a paper tiger when they aren't bombing an imprisoned civilian population.

Thoughts? Am I right or wrong with this take?
