So, like every other butter and oil, that's why we call them hydrocarbon.

I imagine this "butter" doesn't contain any glycomacropeptide, α-lactalbumin, β-lactoglobulin, serum albumin and immunoglobulins

I've never seen a place that charges you a fee only if you pay with a credit card. The credit card company rules say you can't do that and they'll threaten you vendor status the same way they threatened Valve and Itch.io.

Finally no longer having to work
It's really been the absolute worst thing in life after "being a kid" and "going to school"

I know the setup is that if you don't job hard enough
then something even worse is coming up
living in the streets, which is illegal
then living in the man made hell
called prison, which is just another kind of school

But this time, by seeing it coming,
turns out there's a way to opt out of the bad bits !

Just because she's being flirty doesn't mean she's into you
And it's not fun to turn down someone like that
If they're interested they're going to have to ask
in writing and notarized to make sure there' s no miscommunication

Thanks ! I've never heard of that one
I had investigated distrobuilder in repack-windows mode
This sounds like a similar version of that with docker instead of lxc ?

I'm really curious to find some way to have just an application being streamed from one of those, instead of a whole desktop. Like just the application window, resizable like a regular window and using the decorations of the receiving OS

I didn't like that movie back then, I thought it was too on the nose and weird.

But wow, this has aged like fine wine, that clip was amazing

When are we going to have actual violence against androids

I want to be a fly in that car
I'm assuming flies have ears

Everyone is selfish, molloch isn't real,
it's a thinking pattern that everyone is subject to
my friends admitted to using credit cards because
"at least they get rewards"
by personifying the behaviour pattern
you can demonize it
without calling your friends "greedy selfish bastards"
It is much easier to see it and understanding
that way than if you're being attacked
and then become defensive about it

I think of chain of thought as a self-prompting model
I suspect in the future, chain-of-thought model will run
a smaller tuned/dedicated chain-of-thought submodel just for the chain-of-thought tokens

The point of this is that, most users aren't very good at
prompting, they just don't have the feel for it

Personally I get worse results, way less what I wanted,
when CoT is enabled, I'm very annoyed that now
the "chatgpt classic" model selector just decides to use CoT
whenever it wants, I should be the one to decide that
and I want it off almost all of the time !!

I am greatly displeased at the smartphone industry. I think it's time for a heavy handed crackdown about all the spying they're doing. The smartphone industry and in particular the company qualcomm I find an intolerable company in their practice, I believe they should be smashed, their equiment liquidated and their intellectual property destroyed.

The smartphone industry is a festering cancer on general computing, a persistent and pernicious assault on human rights. An invasion of our private spaces. A colonization of our lives.

I think it is past the point of reform, not that there are any regulator with to intelligence figure out what is wrong let alone the wherewithal to do anything about.

For those reasons, I think global thermonuclear war is our only realistic option for setting back the clock on this travesty.

I am willing to hear your alternative, I don't believe anything short of that has a snowball's chance in hell to change anything about this.

I'm sorry this idea is kind of hard to explain. Like if you had a torrent, but every week or so you'd have new interesting stuff to discover from it ?

LIke a "torrent channel" but fully decentralized somehow ?

Maybe you'd just get more torrents to choose from. Large, searchable torrent archives, "this week's new torrents" ?

What about receiving news video, streams without a website to coordinate it, no gatekeeper except the digital signature of the strangers you trust ?

Like, why isn't facebook a torrent network ? Why isn't youtube, just torrents ? Facebook and youtube without having to ask Zuck and Goog for permission ?

So irritating, you find exactly the thread about your issue,

You ask for the answer, but they close it instead !!

So everyone else is going to end up here, with no voice, no way to even say "hey you jannie why you'd close are thread, do you have a learning disability" ?

How often do you end up mute in those top threads.

And they wonder why public forums are dying !

And by that I mean,

An http server that serves word-like rich formatted text documents and includes a web-based rich formatting text editor to write and edit these documents.

With some searching I found these might be candidates

Ghost
WriteFreely / Write.as
Plume

And maybe the following editors in some kind of standalone mode

TipTap
Editor.js
Quill.js
CKEditor 5
Slate.js

Oops, I clicked a random tab, now I can't find my previous tab.

Surely there is a keyboard shortcut to go back where I was ?

Note : I have 2185 tabs open in 21 windows

Hi,

I really miss the old version of the website "weatherspark" It had an absolutely fantastic weather dashboard.

It was a old google-finance-like graph that you could scroll, to zoom in and out to increase the timescale, or left to right to shift the date at the center of the graph.

The lines on the graph shows, current temperature, historical temperature and prediction temperature.

There were bands around the temperature that would indicate temperature averages and records for the date period on screen.

If there were precipitations, it would show as another line the amounts.

In that simple graph you could get the sense of the local weather, what it's been and what it will be, this week, this month or 25 years ago with just your mouse.

With all the weather data being collected by government and available on public APIs, is there any open source self-hosted software that has an effective interactive data visualization user interface as weather spark of old ?

Here is what it looked like, all in a single graph with NO pageloads !

I have heard the dismissal, I have been told I don't matter, I have been told I'm a edge case.

But I'm telling you wayland, I chafe at you taking away my optionality.

Sometimes I ~need~ that feature, and when I need it, I need it bad !

I understand that the IBM money pouring into wayland is super happy about the linux world losing network transparency for apps, stripping power users of their inconvenient toys.

But I'm telling you, I need it.

No, waypipe isn't it.

~~Also, no longer having distinct window managers from the compositor give me serious bad vibes but this isn't what this is about~~
