This word also exists in Polish, Lithuanian, and Russian, as a loanword from French. Because I imagine speakers of Svobenian living somewhere in central Europe (i even have the whole althist thing where i made Svobenia, country of Svobenians, being located in what is now Kaliningrad oblast), i find it sensible that they'd also borrow this word.

And yeah, it's a Germanic language, developing separately from probably originally Eastern Germanic branch, somewhere in what is now Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, but then got heavily influenced by some early West Slavic language. I'm gonna elaborate on the whole history of svobenes once i actually "finish" the language

Translation:

[image of a svobenian google search result saying earth's age is 4.543 billion years]

A: how is it

A: (that) the earth is 4543 [sic] billion years old but the year is (only) 2025

B: idiot 🤦

Also a bit of a context, Svobenian is my Germanic conlang with strong Slavic influence (basically a descendant of Proto-Germanic with Slavic sound changes and many proto-slavic borrowings). I made this joke to demonstrate the difference between “vėtar” (year, cognate to English winter, used only as a time unit, e.g. 4.543 mlrd vėtř, meaning 4.543 billion years) and “jero” (cognate to English year, used in other contexts, e.g. jero 2025 “year 2025”)

There are some communities that enable these cunts to get the roles of mods and don't do anything about it when these mods are exposed.

I'd add to that, even though teachers are not doing these exams, they have to inspect students by sitting there for hours and miserable salaries. They aren't even allowed to leave the classrooms during the exam. So overall these exams aren't beneficial neither for student nor for a teacher, but yeah, for those on the top

Basically at the end of primary school in 8th grade in Poland they're doing a standardized nationwide exam, and this year they used AI to generate images for illustrations, including the pictures for certain tasks. I was so demotivated when I saw this tbh

I can suppose you don't have any problems with landlords, bosses, or discrimination, you're the member of the class that has the best or at least good quality of life under the current system. Your main problem are some shitty bikes, while some have to deal with the fact they don't have a roof under their head just because some greedy owner doesn't allow them to live in an unused house, or a sick person who cannot afford treatment again because they have to pay some absurdly large sum of money. Capitalism is not a system that sustains everyone or gives equal opportunity for everyone's growth, no, it's just for a small, lucky group of people, it concentrates wealth at the top of the hierarchy.

The communities I mentioned are self-sustaining and anti-hierarchical, they grow together for the good of the community, and at least trying to be those places where there's no discrimination, and not the place where basic needs are a commodity (like your beloved Belgium). They're poor by the standards of modern capitalist countries, which is all about money, so in my eyes, there's no such thing as "poor", just a person who is born in the system where their class is treated unfairly.

... and never working a day?

How scary!!! /s

What's the largest amount of people that tried this moneyless stateless society stuff and how long did it last

Many indigenous peoples lived so for millennia. In Europe, the attempts from the past were Paris Commune most notably, Makhno's Free Territory, etc. Those which stand today are Rojava, "Exarcheia" in Greece, "Christiania" in Denmark, areas in Mexico controlled by Zapatistas, hundreds of small intentional communities, and many tribal communities.

Ussr was state capitalist, north Korea is Kim's paradise. Cuba is state capitalist. China is capitalist.

Yeah, I know?

My job requires me to be trustworthy. If I get caught stealing a bike, even though they won't do much, it might get on crime record. Whenever I look for a new job, I will need to give them my crime record and explain myself

Sorry by "take" i didn't mean "steal", I'm not telling you to steal a new bike if you don't want to lol

My bike is 9700 euros. Of course people will want to steal it.

Again, theft wouldn't be a problem in a moneyless society, since all bikes have the same value and everyone has an access to those bikes, not like in our society where a more costly and less available bike is more valued and therefore entices people to steal.

[–] hopeleft 2 points 3 months ago (7 children)

Ok, so why can't you just take another bike?

[–] hopeleft 7 points 3 months ago (13 children)

Without artificial scarcity created by capitalism theft wouldn't be a problem. Just let abundance of bikes and even if someone steals it you can always borrow another one.

It would be nice to create a community for flops here and on Pixelfed too. I'm pretty sure there are at least some of us on Fediverse, and it would be really good to introduce floptok members from tiktok into fediverse as well. Who's interested in helping me with it?
