Myself and two friends went to Seattle to race (sailboats) and one had booked us a hotel on Aurora, I don’t remember the name unfortunately. When we got there they were both kinda iffy on the place but I didn’t notice anything too weird. It was your average cheap ish hotel. I had also had a few drinks by this point so that might have had something to do with it. Anyhoo, we went out drinking and had a lovely night, came back and passed out. In the morning I went to use the bathroom and as I’m sitting there everything started to come into focus, and yeah, it was pretty gross. I wandered back out and laid on the bed. As I reached my arms behind the pillow to stretch, my hand hit something, I grabbed it and pulled out a meth pipe. Nice. We packed up and headed to the front desk. They really didn’t want to refund us the money for the next two nights but when I put the meth pipe on the counter they suddenly decided they’d be able to do that for us. Ended up sleeping on the floor at a friend’s house and had a grand time.

Yup. Our wine glasses are stemless (I knock them over) and my husband doesn’t like his baking sheets in the dishwasher so as of yet we haven’t had a reason to use it. That being said, I know I will at some point!

Ok cool, I’ll see if Bulk Barn has it. Thanks!

I just went through this. I had an Asko for 13 years, was definitely happy enough with it to get another. So quiet! So when it did eventually die I was going to get another one but the prices have jumped quite a bit. The next best are Miele and Bosch, I ended up with a Bosch that was on a super sale. I’m pretty happy with it over all.

The Asko as mentioned was very quiet, the one I had before it sounded like a freight train so that was important. Over the years the eco clean setting wasn’t as good (food left on)so we switched settings to the regular cycle and that was ok. About a year ago we kept intermittently getting an error which was from the water pump sensor so it wouldn’t finish the wash. My neighbour had the same one (the reason I got it in the first place) and her front panel had gone so she gave it to me for parts. I never did end up fixing it and we just limped along until about a month ago and I said fuck it and got a new one. One thing I really liked about it was the layout inside for my dishes. One thing I hated was the sharp metal around the outside front trim. When we went to install it, it gouged the wood cabinet.

The Bosch is nice, almost as quiet and doesn’t use much water. The model we got is made in Germany too. I’m not such a fan of the layout inside but that’s probably because I’m just not used to it yet. It’s got the top utensil rack which I like. The next rack down you can adjust the height which I haven’t had a reason to use but I can see being handy over the holidays. Definitely loving having clean dishes again! It does have internet connectivity but as long as you don’t download the app it will never connect. I also didn’t want that but it’s hard to find one without now.

I will forget as I’m immediately getting the pen and paper to write it down. Happens way too often.

Interesting! Thank you so much for the personal experience using it, I’ll see if I can find some. Cheers!

Congratulations! We got a bread machine at a thrift store a few months ago and it’s been life changing. We use it a few times a week now. So much fun to mess around with ingredients. Speaking of which, butter powder?? What is that? I feel like this could be great for out on the boat.

If I wanted to keep track then I definitely would need a calendar. My period is all over the place. Sometimes is 4 or 5 weeks in between instead of the usual 29 ish days, and sometimes I get two a month. There’s no set schedule for me unfortunately, and it’s more erratic as I get older. On the plus side I’ve never had cramps or the other usual symptoms, just had to make sure I have a tampon or pad with me at all times. So yay I guess.

It’s absolutely a way to collect that data and prosecute women. Look at the permissions of any app before you download it!!

I have purposely kept myself in the dark, but I did hear him mumbling something about Sally’s Baking Addiction…

You can make it yourself. My husband has been trying different recipes he’s found online. Tbh, I’m a bit worried for our health.

LA Story! I still love that movie. Our movies were whatever the people that lived in the house before you left when they moved back to wherever they were from (expat life in the Middle East). Also my grandma taped all the Fairy Tale Theatre episodes for me. The three little pigs was the best! Billy Crystal as the runt and Jeff Goldblum as the big bad wolf, so so good.

Bootleg that was taped in a movie theatre and then rented from the guy down the street that had a room in his house set up with shelves and a shit ton of movies. And/or the collection that was left from the last people that lived in your house. Along with their furniture. My movie was LA Story. The good old days in Saudi Arabia.

But Merry Christmas from Diesel!

They didn’t care about the tree until presents went under it. Then that was the place to be.
