The AI is "smart" enough to get by context what he's asking for, in much the same way we believe humans do

He asked for a meme of a man squinting, anyone familiar with meme culture is gonna think of Fry & Professor Chang first, and context of "not sure if" gives the game away that it's the Fry meme

That part is what makes AI actually interesting as a technology, homie

Chatbots: Fuck you

Really? Honestly it's the most innocent use if you're not the kind of person to get hooked on them

Image AI: Fuck you

I get why people have this harsh stance, but without my locally-hosted AI doing concept work for me then my avatar as you see it here wouldn't exist nor would an artist be considerably more wealthy than they were before I commissioned them. I get that I'm in the minority by a wide margin, but people like me exist in decent amounts too

Commercial AI in general: And fuck you, I'm out!

Yeah, commercial AI is the problem. I cannot begin to understand being upset at someone running it locally and not for profit though, which happens a lot

ETA: Case in point - the dipshits who downvoted me for this. Good job not using y'all's brains

Gimp 3.0 is finally actually something you could use to make something quickly

It still makes some baffling decisions (seriously I fucking hate that deselect is CTRL+SHIFT+D and not CTRL+D. I get why, shift is the "opposite" modifier, but GIMP is the only software I use that does this) and isn't perfect, but for meme making and general Internet use it's probably at long-last ready

If someone thinks you're a loser for liking Animaniacs (can't speak for the reboot tho) then they're the fuckin loser even by normal society standards, fuck em

But it would be So. Fucking. Easy. to capture an entire niche by just slapping a minimal DAC circuit and a TRRS socket on a phone. And nobody does it!

Should really tell y'all something, huh? It's way more niche than you think for people to give the first shit about 3.5mm, and those of us who do are satisfied with a cheap aftermarket adapter with a passive DAC so good I have to turn my volume down to half if I don't wanna go deaf

I legitimately do not understand the aversion headphone makers have to replacing the 3.5mm with USB-C, at least as an option (IEMs actually do offer this now, it's reeeeally nice)

(X) Doubt, game takes up more than DOUBLE Blops 2, yet everything is ~2x resolution on average & at launch there was less content available than Blops 2

They also stream some of the content to you rather than let you install it, so it's bigger than what it says on disk

AI call screening has been on Pixels since 2017/2018, this appears to be a mild update to how that process works while rolling it out to all of android rather than just the pixel line

This tech isn't new at all

[–] gamermanh -1 points 2 months ago

You have to test the result and with Linux you have to test dozens of distros

Lol

When the phone is answered the AI is the one speaking and tells the person calling that it's a bot who'll pass the info to the actual user

[–] gamermanh 0 points 2 months ago (2 children)

this AI will always be running constantly draining your battery anyway

It's part of the phone app and only engages when you get a call, my god the lack of understanding on a feature that's been out for years now in this thread is actually crazy

I can listen to audio tracks and separate the instruments and listen to them individually, but still prefer subtitles due to the dogshit audio mastering most media offers these days
