Thank you everyone! I'm trying some of these out this week. Got my comfy chair and I'm planning on trying the wipes this morning as I'm feeling a little gross, but not quite shower territory yet, and I'm definitely grabbing my sun glasses later.

So, I'm heading camping tomarrow. I've done this before, but tenting is really... out in the open. Any recommendations for sensory management in the outdoors that people have? It's going to be hot, and I'm going to be around more people then normal, and my goal is to reduce the usual 1-2 meltdowns to maybe just 0-1. (I've been getting better, a few years ago we aveaged (3-4). It's a very verbal family. Someone will yell at someone by the end of the week, I'm just trying to make sure it's not me. Things I'm already bringing: Sound Canceling Headphones, Bone Conducting Headphones for my background soundtrack, and enough special interest to keep me occupied for the week. (I have a friend who wants a raspberry pi on his helmet, and I'm going to work out how to do the software will almost no cell coverage... sounds interesting to me.) Has anyone else done something like this before, and any recommendation. (Additional Context: Likely about 22 other family members will be there, it's not quite a reunion, but it sorta is.)

It can be useful to have an app like speech assistant or another AAC on a phone or tablet, or like me, it's on my phone, my partners phone, and my tablet, prepped with both the ability to type out my messages or prepared "cards" with words or phrases on them. I have periods of non-verbal or semi-verbal times, and it is really nice to have the quick ability to communicate. Yes, you can text, but if I am out on my own, I might not know everyone's phone number who I might need to communicate with. Imagine having a semi-verbal/non-verbal episode right as your trying to order coffee. (Don't be scared, be prepared, right?)

Oh, I almost missed the enderman! Nice prints! I do more functional prints, but tonight when I get home I have to clean up the spaghetti. I knew the print was failing, I even turned off the detector... I tried.

I saw a (what now I understand to be a single stage) steam engine at a museum a few months ago. I must understand how this works. Anyone have any good links to information from "concept" to "operation" for steam engines?

Thank you.

My wife is ADHD, and I'm Autistic. I think we balence out each other, though we did have a funny experiance one time where someone (A doctor at a hospital I was at) asked her if she was autistic too, and my wife said, "No, why do you ask?" And the Dr said, "Well they tend to find each other". I did date one other person before her, and she was on the spectrum, and honestly, it didn't work very well, because we did not solve each others meltdowns, and when we did, it tended to go badly. On the upside, her ADHD lets her focus on everything that needs to be done at once, while my focus lets me remind her what she was doing, then she reminds me of all the things I didn't do yet, that didn't even cross my mind, such as breakfast, or meds. I get asked the tough questions sometimes even like "Have you had water today?", "Have you eaten?"

Diversity is good for each other I think.

Cooking (lemmy.sdf.org)

Does anyone else do "Iterative cooking"? I like to make sometime, and then make it again, with a little tweak to make it better. I record all of my ingredients and amounts of everything so I can cook consistantly. It's my dream to make some favorites, and make them the same way every time.

I use a cheap pc I was not using, and let it do folding@home when I'm not printing... Actually... it does it while printing too. Anyways, Just get another board that handles klipper and just add it? Is there a specific "USB to Stepper" board, or do I just hotwire in another motherboard. I have the Ender 3 Pro with the "magical probably wont burn down your house" power supply, is that enough for another board, if I'm running another stepper?

Thanks!

I'm considering making some upgrades to my ender 3 Pro, such as one of the multi material upgrades, but that would require more motors. Anyone know of a good motherboard? Thanks!

Hello, looking for a way to send Doge to qr codes, maybe a wallet that reads the qr codes on the desktop client? Just curious, I'm toying with accepting doge for tech support I do for people. Otherwise is there a good way to accept payment this way?

The SDF mastodon instance "social" is throwing errors for me, is this a known thing?

I enjoy reading, and like to ask random questions on AMAs from time to time, did that make the move? If so, where? If not, why?

So I had this idea, but did anyone have a better idea? Is there a reasonably priced solar system anyone knows of that can get me around 20-30Ah? Or is it mAh... I'm still trying my units right.

So, Last year I lost my vintage computers (most of them a work in progress) in a house fire. I've started rebuilding my collection. I've got my TI-83+ still, I consider that to be one. It was with me when the fire happened, and I have an old windows 95 computer I got my hands on, still not sure what to do with him yet. Ideas on projects/places to go next. Would love to find something reliable that can takes datasets, but is reasonably priced.
