also like 90% of the terrain is straight up mountain face and dense forest with like maybe 3 highways crossing the mountain range total. Access control is super easy.

Never come back. Completely shut down the state government and force them to fast track their desired one party state (and trigger some uprising) or just get nothing done at all. Either way people will get mad and start demanding real action.

Money doesn’t win elections, people do.

This assumes that elections aren't tampered with, which is factually false in the US now.

So, why would I care about a little trespassing?

Because you're poor, and laws still apply to you.

One way ticket to criminal trespass I'm sure

Sometimes the "profit" is just "this makes my life better"

No offense to Ron, but he's getting quite old and last time I saw him at a town hall, looked pale and yellowed like he has serious health issues. Leadership needs to be a younger generation with fire left in them to hold a multi decade campaign to purge all Republicans from the US, or we're wasting our time.

America has never allowed protesting when it was inconvenient for capital.

I would have to take a 20k pay cut for any local government position and I'm already barely having anything to save. That's before needing money to run a campaign.

Elected positions are not designed for poor people to apply.

Remember: Gold value as measured in USD is not entirely gold increasing in value, it isalso the USD losing its purchasing power internationally.

Gradual descent into the economic boiling pot.

Summary

The Taliban have banned windows in homes that allow views of areas where Afghan women might be seen, citing concerns over "obscene acts."

This new decree mandates blocking or obstructing such windows in existing and new buildings, continuing the group's systemic repression of women since regaining control of Afghanistan in August 2021.

The Taliban's policies have included bans on women's education, public appearances, and voices.

Critics, including the U.N., warn these actions dangerously erode human rights, while activists call out global inaction over the ongoing oppression.

I fully intended to buy Proton Unlimited during the black friday discounts, but wasn't anywhere with an internet connection and missed out. I need a VPN and a properly secure email service before January. Is it worth waiting to see if they post a christmas or new years deal or should I just do it and deal with it? I don't know if they've historically posted Christmas discounts or if it is just the Black Friday thing.

The proposed merger between supermarket giants Kroger and Albertsons floundered on Tuesday after judges overseeing two separate cases both halted the merger.

U.S. District Court Judge Adrienne Nelson issued a preliminary injunction blocking the merger Tuesday after holding a three-week hearing in Portland, Oregon.

Later Tuesday, Judge Marshall Ferguson in Seattle issued a permanent injunction barring the merger in Washington after concluding that it would lessen competition in the state.

Kroger and Albertsons in 2022 proposed what would be the largest grocery store merger in U.S. history. But the Federal Trade Commission sued earlier this year, asking Nelson to block the $24.6 billion deal until an in-house administrative judge at the FTC could consider the merger’s implications.

Nelson agreed to pause the merger.
