Yeah not debating his creds or anything, but I am curious why he’s not on the boat when the last post about him was saying he was going to sail with Greta.

Canada, Australia and NZ don’t get a pass either.

without some form of axle controlling mechanism

You mean like putting all your bodyweight into torquing your axle bolts down right?

GW1 is online only, though the game works well as a solo experience. The minion master in that game is my fav by far.

It’s crazy how it just seeps in through friends, school etc. We’ve drawn a hard line at no paw patrol paraphernalia, which seems to have stopped its roots from really taking hold.

I'll admit that I have a fondness for personality tests. I find them interesting, but I have no delusions about their ability to contribute to any meaningful analysis of one's life. That said, I don't think it's helpful to compare a system that is based on when you are born, to one that is based on answers to a variety of questions about how you would respond to different scenarios. The ways these tests are used by employers is exploitative, but that doesn't mean that there aren't interesting things to glean from categorizing trends in how people respond to these questions.

Astrology is uninteresting because it lacks even this barest of links to what you might be experiencing as an individual, but personality tests at least try to group you with like-minded groups. There are so many valid criticisms of personality tests, but at least they try, whereas astrology is lazy in so many ways.

anyways if you can't tell I'm an INTP and therefore always trying to understand things at a deeper level and probably better than you and or bad at communicating or something.

I’m trying to think of any possible advantage of this over just putting it on the back wheel and I can’t. It’s beautiful.

I probably would have said I was an anarchist back in the days of r/cth, but after the move to hexbear it was a pretty short walk to ML. Anarchism as a political framing for world politics is really quite shit, looking at things through a marxist lens clarified a lot for me. I do still appreciate anarchist approaches for small scale organizing/community efforts.

Was going to say Kwame Nkrumah as well. Pan-Africanism has such amazing potential and this guy is probably the most important figure in its history.

Yeah this quote is correct in it's general intent, but gets some of the details wrong. Harry in the books is not super smart, he's at best an average student.

If you're going to big/medium-sized acts from musicians that have definitively "made it" then I think this makes sense. I've been to plenty of shows where an encore was neither expected nor desired, and others where an encore came at (what looked like) genuine surprise to the band.

So yeah, when you're selling out all your shows and the last 10 all demanded an encore, then just start baking it into your set, but there has to be some marker of when you've reached this point.

You can get some pretty great headlamps that help with light, around $75 for something with decent quality, battery and bright enough. I typically get most of my running in while the kids are asleep which means very early or late runs. I'm lucky enough to live in a place with well lit running paths all night though so I haven't had much experience with unlit roads. I do trail running with a headlamp sometimes though which works well enough.

For the sun, I'd highly recommend covering up vs sunscreen. A long sleeve lightweight shirt + a bucket hat would go a long way, or those weird running sleeves that people wear.

I don’t have an issue with bleeding nipples myself, but I’ve heard people swear by products like nut butter or body glide. I just use normal Vaseline when I’m having chafing and it does the trick.

It’s not exactly what you’re asking for, since it doesn’t have a main character and it’s not theory, but Mieville’s October reads like a novel and it tells the story of the Russian revolution. Worth a read since it’s educational and a fun read. Aside from some lame anti-Stalinism at the end it’s solid imo.

I'm AMAB cishet, but I've been struggling with understanding my gender vs my sex. I'm very comfortable with my body, including by sexual characteristics, but have never felt a strong affinity to the male gender. Is there a term for this? Everything I look up includes some kind of body dysphoria, which is not something I relate to.
