This sucks because it’s an invasion of privacy. But it also sucks because SMUD is an otherwise great utility.

The begrudging comes from expecting the odd collection to be exempt from tax.

Meta, Instagram, etc. is a private company, and can make decisions like that. It’s their right, and I understand it.

It would be hyperbole to claim such censorship violates freefree-speech, but when The sided reason for censorship is “national interest“ it certainly comes close.

In n Out is worth billions selling hamburgers almost exclusively in California. Even the ‘doing business here’ must not be too bad.

That’s not fair. He’s also a bad actor.

I’m on the beta. And I started hating it, then went to disliking it to simply not preferring it.

Being in beta, they are still making tweaks. I think, somewhat unexpectedly, the final build will be kinda nice.

There was a point at which reddit because so big as to fundamentally change. Call it 'when regular people joined reddit.' But that's not what ruined it, it was reddit itself capitulating to shareholders.

Still hard to ditch Reddit entirely, there’s just too much valuable content on there.

But accessing Lemmy via mobile app is darn near perfect, and feels a lot like early Reddit. Just need more active users.

I’m just questioning what value he’d find in a Twitter account these days. Unless he’s doing a full-court PR press to rehabilitate his image, seems anything public facing is more harm than good.

Alphabetizing a list of items whose sole characteristic is numerical wouldn’t have been my first response.

Why would Spacey keep an active social media account?

There are already laws that make sure employees are given time off to vote. At least there are in my state, in many other states. A national law would be welcome, and I think more effective than an election holiday.

Grant Petersen designed #BridgestoneRB-1 (1989 in this case) has been a grail bike frame of mine for years.

This beauty showed up at a swap meet this weekend, and was complete and in great working order. Took it home for $250.

I have a full set of 11s 105 that’s going to make its way onto the bike, and I’ll keep the Suntour GTX components safe for the originalists out there.

Winter project nearing completion, but I am having decision paralysis on the last few pieces. I'm thinking of a honey colored Brooks saddle and color matching bar tape (shallaced cotton maybe). Then some tan sidewall touring tires. Which in turn would all match the honey colored leather of the bag.

My biggest questions are color options for the saddle, bar tape, and tires in contrast to the blue of the frame? And on the subject of tires, what would you choose? Wheels are 700c, and I think 32s would fit.

Oh ya, and eventually there'll be hammered silver Honjo fenders when I can find them.
